UNODC is looking for an online volunteer to support the work of the Judicial Integrity team in the translation of one of the Global judicial Integrity Network’s Knowledge Products, namely the Guide on Drafting Judicial Codes of Conduct into Russian. This guide (30 pages) intends to provide practical information on how to draft, approve and enforce a code of conduct for the judiciary. Its purpose is twofold, namely: a) to offer advice on the procedural steps that could be considered when developing a code of conduct and developing mechanisms to enforce it ("How"); and b) to provide guidance on the possible substantive content, based on the content of the Bangalore Principles of Judicial Conduct and relevant examples from other regional and national instruments, as well as on the possible structure and scope of the code ("What").

At the conclusion of the 13th United Nations Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice held in Qatar, the Doha Declaration was adopted. The Doha Declaration has at its centre the understanding that the rule of law and sustainable development are interrelated and mutually reinforcing. To put the Doha Declaration into reality, the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime - with the financial support of the State of Qatar - launched a Global Programme which has judicial integrity as one of its pillars. The Judicial Integrity component aims to assist judiciaries across the globe in strengthening judicial integrity and preventing corruption in the justice sector, in line with article 11 of the United Nations Convention against Corruption. For that purpose, the initiative has facilitated the creation of the Global Judicial Integrity Network. The Network aims to aim to create a space for judges and judiciaries to exchange experiences and jointly address some of the existing and emerging challenges related to judicial integrity.
