You have:

  • At least 5-7 years of experience in at least two different conflict affecting contexts.
  • Previous experience with an ERP, preferably Microsoft Dynamics.
  • Excellent Excel skills and the ability to train staff on Excel.
  • University degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or Business Administration.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
  • Knowledge of Ukrainian or Russian is an added value.
  • Previous experience developing SOPs for master budget, BFU and allocation tables processes required.
  • Previous experience writing and implementing SOPs on financial processes required.

Danish Refugee Council (DRC) has been operating in Ukraine since 2014 and is currently scaling up its operation in Ukraine to deliver lifesaving assistance and emergency response to people affected by the war.

Overall purpose of the role:

The Support Services Advisors’s role is to support the Head of Support Services in the review and revision of financial oversight tools, i.e. master budget, Budget Follow Ups and allocation tables. The Support Services Advisor further supports the roll out of revised financial oversight processes through the development of SOPs and trainings across all DRC offices in Ukraine to ensure that budget holders and other stakeholders are fully proficient in the process. Further, the Support Services Advisor supports the HOSS in other tasks as required across the three support services departments finance, supply chain and HR/Admin with a focus on process improvements and standardization.

Responsibilities:

  • Review DRC Ukraine’s current financial oversight systems including master budget, allocation tables and BFUs. Identify areas of improvement and gaps and develop adjusted systems in coordination with Finance Manager, HOSS, Head of Operations and Country Director;
  • Develop and roll out SOPs across 9 offices in Ukraine on the revised financial oversight process ensuring that budget holders can be held fully accountable and follow up and coordinate implementation;
  • Provide training across offices on new process and coordinate regular/recurrent trainings and onboarding of relevant staff;
  • Support in the development of new budget proposal processes that are linked to the master budget’s budget categories and allow for better tracking of expenditures;
  • Once offline tools are developed, establish process to move to master budget tool in Dynamics in close collaboration with HQ;
  • Support in review of key support process for relevance and compliance with DRC’s Operations Handbook and Ukrainian legislation across HR, Finance and Supply Chain as requested by HOSS and develop SOPs for key processes;
  • Ensure that identified support services processes are implemented through regular follow and coordination of implementation across offices;

Experience and technical competencies: (include years of experience)

  • Previous experience with an ERP is required, preferably working experience with Microsoft Dynamics;
  • Previous experience developing SOPs for master budget, BFU and allocation tables processes required;
  • Previous experience writing and implementing SOPs on financial processes required;
  • This is a senior expert position for which at least 5-7 years of experience is required in at least two different conflict affecting contexts;
  • Excellent excel skills and ability to train staff on excel is required;

Education:

  • University degree in Finance/Accounting/Commerce/Business Administration
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
  • Knowledge of Ukrainian or Russian an added value

Salary and other conditions are offered in accordance with DRC’s Terms of Employment for international staff or DRC National Staff salary scale.
