Save the Waters aims to educate young minds through STEM and DILOS™ programs to increase public awareness of environmental issues and excite children to get involved in science. DILOS™ is an in-school program where we set up a mobile water laboratory for students to have hands-on participation in water analysis and microscope work as well as a field trip to the Everglades, a local lake, or body of water. We are currently developing a variety of educational resources including monthly articles, podcast series, water curriculum, web comic series, infographics, and water fact cards.

One of the biggest objectives of Save the Water is to educate about water contamination, in this sense, preparing learning programs will ensure that the Education team is able to effectively educate communicate Save the Water’s message.

We are looking for Online Volunteers to help supporting the Education Group by creating a learning program plan for a project related to a technology implementation. The online volunteer will need to conduct empathy mapping and persona analysis to develop to define a delivery lesson plans or activity planning sheets including the identification of the most appropriate learning resources, such as videos, presentations, or papers. Each volunteer will be assigned a specific topic within the project to provide support on the design phase.

Also, the online volunteer needs to attend meetings as scheduled using Google, respond to emails and support teamwork.

Candidates must be willing to attend virtual meetings in EST Time zone and be responsive to emails within 36 hours. Strong attention to detail in all aspects of work. Strong ability to self-motivate, multi-task and prioritize effectively. Proven ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced and online environment. Demonstrate strong written and oral communication skills to elicit information and provide accurate information clearly and concisely. Very comfortable working in a virtual team environment incorporating group problem-solving; shares information and responsibility. Committed to attending team and ad hoc meetings. Strong relationship-building skills, both internally and externally. Outgoing, persistent and energetic. Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to handle requests and complaints in a professional, non-confrontational manner. Creative problem solving skills, capacity for innovation. Thrive working collaboratively with STW staff. Enjoy taking initiative, adaptable, and able to work under pressure.
