IPC-IG is looking for a French and Arabic speaker online volunteer with experience in Algeria to support with online research on social protection in the Maghreb region. More specifically, in collaboration with IPC-IG researchers, the selected candidate will support (i) data collection about social protection programmes and national budgets from Maghreb countries; and (ii) analyse documents related to social protection and financial data in Arabic and produce short summaries of their content in French. Please do not apply for this opportunity if you are not fluent in French and Arabic and if you do not have experience in Algeria specifically.

Knowledge management, archiving and documentation
The IPC-IG is a result of an agreement between the United Nations Development Programme and the Brazilian Government to facilitate South-South Cooperation on key development issues. Its mandate is to promote the production and dissemination of studies and policy recommendations, the exchange of best practices in development initiatives and the expansion of South-South cooperation. Online volunteers will work remotely, mostly at a time and location of their convenience, and subjected to the deadlines set. They will receive a certificate of appreciation and can be acknowledged in the final publication of documents, as feasible.

20+ hours per week / 12 weeks
Mandatory: fluency in French and Maghrebi Arabic. Experience on working or studying in Algeria. Academic or professional experience in research. Good writing skills. Highly desirable: knowledge of the Algerian social protection system, social services and national budget. Background on social sciences, political science, statistics, economics, development studies, and related fields. Advanced Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills. Desirable: knowledge of social protection.
