Contract

This is a UNV contract. More about UNV contracts.

The International Policy Centre for Inclusive Growth (IPC-IG), the International Labour Organization Regional Office for Arab States (ILO ROAS) and the United Nations Development Programme Regional Hub for Arab States are collaborating to adapt TRANSFORM modules to make them relevant and useful for decision-makers and practitioners in the Arab region. TRANSFORM is an innovative approach to strengthening national capacities for the implementation of national Social Protection Floors that has been developed as a joint United Nations (UN) initiative in Africa. Based on the vision of inclusive and rights-based social protection as reflected in the UN Social Protection Floors Framework, TRANSFORM seeks to build capacity at national and decentralized levels to improve the design, effectiveness and efficiency of social protection systems. The TRANSFORM learning package is organized in a modular structure and reflects the key building blocks/modules of a holistic and interdependent social protection system: Administration, Coordination, Financing & Financial Management, Governance, Legal Framework, Monitoring & Evaluation, Management Information Systems, and Selection & Identification.

IPC-IG is looking for online volunteers to support content adaptation of the TRANSFORM Social Protection training materials to the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. In collaboration with IPC-IG's researchers, the selected candidates will be responsible to: (i) adapt the pre-existing examples or social protection regional generalizations presented in the TRANSFORM course, replacing them by pre-selected social protection programmes or social protection general statements pertinent to the Arab region; (ii) conduct further literature review on pre-selected social protection programmes or general social protection themes; (iii) write short summaries about pre-selected social protection programmes or about the general context of social protection in the Arab region. The online volunteer will work remotely at a time and location of their convenience, subject to the deadlines set. Also, she or he will receive a certificate of appreciation for their contributions and can be acknowledged in the final publication of documents, if applicable.
