You have:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in environmental science, communication, IT technologies and/or information management with focus on environmental management or a related field.
- 3 years of experience in knowledge management or related fields.
- Experience with computer databases, web design, social media, and information systems.
- Familiarity with the goals and procedures of international organizations, particularly those of the UN and EU.
- Solid overall computer literacy, including proficiency in various MS Office applications (Excel, Word, etc.) and email/internet.
- Have affinity with or interest in environmental protection volunteerism as a mechanism for durable development, and the UN System.

The objective of the assignment for the Knowledge Management Assistant role is to organize, categorize, and disseminate information within Zero Waste Partners to ensure easy access, retrieval, and utilization of knowledge for improved decision-making and problem-solving.
Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of the Regional Project Coordinator within the Project Coordination Unit (PCU), with the overall guidance of the Head, Caribbean SRO, the UNEP Regional Coordinator on Chemicals and Pollution, or his/her designated mandated representative(s), and the Regional Project Coordinator, and under the supervision of the Communication and Knowledge Management Expert, the Online Volunteers, will: • 1 Support and assist in the creation of the Zero Waste in the Caribbean database. More specifically, he/she will: supporting in database creation by identifying relevant categories such as media outlets, schools, institutions, organizations, etc., including fields for key information such as contact details, demographics, and preferences; utilizing database management software to create and populate the database with accurate and up-to-date information; entering collected data into the database, ensuring consistency and accuracy in formatting and categorization; collecting relevant materials such as external and internal articles, documents, and communication items (pictures, videos, social media cards), and regularly update it. • 1 Support and assist in the data collection activity. More specifically, he/she will: researching and collecting information from Zero Waste in the Caribbean implementing partners, national focal points, and other various sources; entering collected data into the database, ensuring consistency and accuracy in formatting and categorization; organizing data according to predefined categories and tags to facilitate easy retrieval and analysis; tailoring contents to support the development of communication products and regularly updating the database with new information.
Required Experience: 3 years.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in environmental science, communication, IT technologies and/or information management with focus on environmental management or a related field. Additional studies or specific training in communication and project knowledge management is desired.
• Experience with computer data bases, web design, social media, and information systems. • Familiarity with the goals and procedures of international organizations, particularly those of the UN and EU. • Familiarity with waste management issues, circular economy, and problems of the Caribbean SIDS would be advantageous. • Solid overall computer literacy, including proficiency in various MS Office applications (Excel, Word, etc.) and email/internet; familiarity with database management; and office technology equipment. • Have affinity with or interest in environmental protection volunteerism as a mechanism for durable development, and the UN System.
