The UNV Volunteer Solutions Section (VSS) is the UNV Online Volunteering (OV) service coordinating unit providing solutions and technical advice to Regional Offices and the New York Office. One of its key responsibility is knowledge management regarding OV-related information and material to ensure all headquarter sections, Regional and New York Offices can access the most recent and relevant information to support the mobilization of Online Volunteers through UN entities, civil society organizations and government and public institutions. To this end, VSS would like to establish a 'knowledge hub' on its guiding webpage (https://explore.unv.org/) that provides general information, step-by-step guidance and more to both internal and external audiences. Through this assignment, the Online Volunteers will support VSS in ensuring the webpages contain all necessary information and material in an intuitive and easy-to-find way to provide the best Online Volunteering experience.

We are looking for two Online Volunteers who, under the guidance of the Programme Analyst, support the Volunteer Solutions Section (VSS) in developing frontend information webpages of the UNV Online Volunteering page built with Drupal, to ensure all necessary information and material regarding the UNV Online Volunteering service is easily accessible to UN entities, other interested organizations and candidates.

In particular, the Online Volunteer will work with us to: - Discuss parameters of the structure and content of the webpages to be developed (key audience, content, layout etc.) - Review the current webpage (layout, structure, etc.) - Propose and suggest a new webpage layout and structure - Develop page content as agreed

The Online Volunteers will be provided with an induction and necessary information for developing the frontend pages and are guided and supported through the focal point at the Volunteer Solutions Section. Depending on the need, the Online Volunteers might be requested to join calls for discussion.

The assignment allows the Online Volunteers to build connections with the Volunteer Solutions Section and the UNV Online Volunteering service team at UNV. In addition, they will be able to gain insight into how UNV works and learn more about the Online Volunteering service in particular. Ultimately, the Online Volunteers will contribute to improving the OV service that brings together organizations and volunteers through thousands of Online Volunteer assignments.

Candidates should have: - Background in Computer Science or another relevant field, - Proficiency in English is a requirement. Working knowledge of French and/or Spanish is a strong asset, - Demonstrate expertise with web technologies such as JavaScript, CSS, and HTML, - Grasp of implementing Drupal modules, whether that be installing or modifying them, - Knowledge of base web development concepts.
