The position is shared between the Transport Centre (TC) and the Emergency Coordination Unit (ECU), reporting to Chief, Transport Centre and Snr. Emergency Manager, Emergency Coordination Unit.

How can you make a difference?

Summary of key functions/accountabilities:

  1. Reviews and evaluates incoming sales orders, supply requisitions and including emergency requests to ensure quality and adequacy of information, specifications, appropriateness of requests, quantities, shipment, delivery dates, budgets.
  2. Monitors the status of Country Office emergency and procurement service orders and center specific KPIs. Pro-actively follows up on placed orders and deliveries with all parties concerned in order to ensure timely and safe delivery of goods.
  3. Communicates and transmits all relevant information to customer including changes to planned deliveries, to facilitate delivery and customs clearance of shipments. Prepares and provides timely and regular status / monitoring reports to customers.
  4. Updating of databases and management systems for use by HQ, Field Offices or Regional Offices. Prepares statistics for presentation, submits regular reports.
  5. Monitors daily attendance of centre staff and prepares monthly absence reports and acts as the Centre Security Focal point. Provides advice and ensures administrative support as required such as arrangement of meetings.
  6. Monitors, reports and files the project status reports and resources used against budget.
  7. Acts as the Centre’s travel and budget focal point and maintains necessary budgetary records.
  8. Any other duties or assignments as requested by the supervisor.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

Education: Completion of secondary education. University courses/certifications in business administration, supply chain management, procurement or logistics is an asset.

Experience: Five years of relevant administrative and/or supply-related working experience in the areas of procurement, supply or logistics is required. Familiarity with UNICEF, UN supply procedures and systems is an asset.

Language Requirements:

Fluency in both written and spoken English is required. Knowledge of another UN language (French, Spanish, Arabic, Chinese, Russian) and/or local language of the duty station (Danish) is a strong asset

Eligibility note: UNICEF staff members globally and applicants who are EU nationals or in possession of a valid work permit for Denmark are eligible to apply. General Service (GS) staff are personally responsible for any travel and accommodation arrangements and UNICEF will not cover any costs related to relocation.
