Org. Setting and Reporting UNTSO was the first peacekeeping operation established by the Security Council, in its resolution 50 (1949), and continues to represent the commitment of the Council to assist in the implementation of the 1949 Armistice Agreements and their attendant ceasefires. In its resolution 73 (1949), the Council requested the Secretary-General to arrange for the continued service of such UNTSO personnel as might be required in observing and maintaining the ceasefire, as requested by the Council in its resolution 54 (1948), and as might be necessary in assisting the parties to the Agreements in the supervision of the application and observance of the terms of those Agreements. UNTSO is mandated to observe and maintain the unconditional ceasefires and assist the parties to the 1949 Armistice Agreements in the supervision of the application and observance of the terms of those Agreements. Its mandate derives from Security Council resolutions and decisions, including foundational resolutions 50 (1948), 54 (1948), and 73 (1949). UNTSO ’s activities are spread over Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon and the Syrian Arab Republic to maintain the regional liaison architecture established under the Armistice Agreements.

This position is located in the Centralized Warehousing under the Supply Chain Management Pillar, United Nations Truce Supervision Organization (UNTSO), Jerusalem. The Supply Officer will report to the Chief Supply Chain Management Pillar or his/her designate.

Responsibilities Within delegated authority, the Supply Officer will carry out the following duties: - Initiates actions leading to disposal of items. - Undertakes market research and reviews best practices in Inventory management and adapts such practices to United Nation’s (UN) requirements. - Establishes and/or reviews mission requirements. Initiates actions to fulfil and control these requirements. - Conducts technical survey visits both in start-up phase and during implementation to plan and ensure most efficient use of resources. - Develops plans for redeployment of assets liquidation or closure of regional offices or camps. - Ensures that accurate, reliable and complete accounting, reporting and internal control systems are functioning and that all relevant records are maintained in Umoja or any other system used by the UN. - Monitor operations to ensure that all warehouse operations KPIs are met. Put in place measures to address challenges that can lead to failure to achieve any KPIs. - Analyzes problems, audit and performance reports on mission activities and provides remedial action programmed where required. - Prepare reports from Umoja, review them for any discrepancies and take necessary action to correct any discrepancies and / or incomplete transactions identified in the reports. - Monitor stocks in transit and liaise with MOVCON on the delivery status and current location of the goods until when the goods are received. - Maintains accurate allocation and control of all equipment and stores received, stored and distributed by the mission. - Supervise regional warehouse operations, which includes warehouse operations, Receipt & Inspection and Property Disposal activities in the region. - In liaison with Receiving and Inspection (R&I) and MOVCON, ensure cargo delivered by vendors are received promptly for inspection by R&I, Technical Sections and Warehouse representatives, and that Put-Away is performed as soon as R&I processes Goods Receipt in UMOJA. - Represent the section in various meetings, including meetings organized by Local Committee on Contracts and Headquarters Committee on Contracts (HCC). - Provides guidance to and/or supervises new/junior staff. - Performs other duties as required.

Education High school or equivalent diploma is required. A technical certificate or other courses related to Business Intelligence such as Power BI is required Relevant training in the field of Warehouse Safety is desirable. Relevant training in ERP Inventory / Warehouse Management is desirable. SCOR-P and Project Management certifications are desirable

Experience in the use of an Enterprise Resource Planning system (ERP) to manage inventory is required.

Work experience in Inventory Management Projects is desirable.

Experience on environmental policies for disposal is desirable.

Experience in UMOJA Inventory Management, Budget and Expenditure analysis, Preparation of SOPs and SOWs is desirable.

Experience in managing support services of international peacekeeping or military /field operations is desirable.

Experience in Receipt & Inspection, Property Disposal and Property Management is desirable.

Knowledge of UN rules, regulations and working practices pertaining to fields mission is desirable.

Languages English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the position advertised, fluency in English is required.
