Overview

Assist in supply chain management and logistics operations.

You have:

  • Completion of secondary education is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant administrative experience in supply chain management or a commercial context is required.
  • Fluency in Spanish is required.
  • Intermediate level of English is required.
  • Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts.
  • Understanding of development and humanitarian work is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French or Russian) or a local language is an asset.
  • Secondary education supplemented by technical or University courses in Finance, Business Administration, International Relations, Economics, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Procurement or related fields.

Contract

This is a G-5 contract. This kind of contract is known as General Service and related categories. It is normally only for nationals. It usually requires 5 years of experience, depending on education.

The Supply and Logistics Assistant is responsible for assisting the uninterrupted supply of affordable and good quality supplies and services, adapted to the particular context and through compliance with UNICEF’s policies, procedures and ethics standards.

How can you make a difference****?

The incumbent will support a Temporary Assignment and reports to the Procurement Associate (GS6) within the operations section. The Supply and Logistics Associate (GS-5) is responsible for the following functions:

  • Procurement/Contracting
  • In-country logistics
  • Warehousing and inventory management
  • Alternative delivery mechanisms and procurement services
  • Assist in the implementation of emergency supply plan and procurement services.
  • Other duties/responsibilities.
