Danish Refugee Council, one of the world’s leading humanitarian NGOs is currently looking for a highly qualified and motivated Supply Chain Team Leader (Fleet) that will be based in Kyiv.

DRC has been operating in Ukraine since 2014, currently DRC employs over 250 staff in Ukraine and will continue significant scale-up in 2022 to implement emergency response in the Protection, Livelihoods, Shelter/NFIs and Humanitarian Disarmament and Peacebuilding (humanitarian mine action) sectors, using direct interventions, support to duty bearers and civil society organizations (CSOs), and partnerships with CSOs.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Specific responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize, and direct the work of the section to meet objectives with the most efficient use of personnel, facilities, and equipment including vehicles;
  • Plan and organize for transfer of DRC Ukraine staff, visitors, and commodities from one point to another in line with organizational policies and procedures;
  • Oversee the Fleet Management systems including the GPS system;
  • Coordinate the movement of DRC Ukraine all vehicles;
  • Develop and implement vehicle policies and procedures that will ensure efficient utilization;
  • Ensure all vehicles are kept well insured;
  • Monitor fleet operations to ensure compliance to DRC administrative policies and procedures, safety rules, and government regulations;
  • Submit regular fleet reports to the Supply Chain Manager including break downs, accidents, fuel usage, vehicle running cost, vehicle usage, and driver performance;
  • Implement a preventive maintenance program to minimize cost and maximize use of vehicles;
  • Prepare and manage a fleet maintenance budget and oversee vehicle maintenance and repair;
  • Prepare and direct driver training programs for newly employed drivers as well as regular training for all the drivers;
  • Ensure fuel efficiency and low vehicle downtime and prepare short and long term plans for vehicle replacement;
  • Prepare periodic cost analysis, management and operational reports;
  • Implement the DRC Ukraine and Security Management plan in liaison with the Safety and Security Management Team;
  • Submit security and risk reports to the Incident Management Team;
  • Enforce compliance with security and safety procedures and liaise with law enforcement agencies over criminal and other security concerns;
  • Ensure staff receive the correct safety and security training relevant to their roles and expected exposure to different risks;

Required experience and competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics and/or Supply Chain Management
  • At least 6 years’ experience in in fleet management
  • Proven management skills and a competence in people management
  • Commitment to learning and implementing organizational policies and procedures.
  • Excellent skill in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Experience in managing ERP system
  • Full professional proficiency in English and local languages
  • Driving license with at least 6 years’ driving experience
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Good supervisory skills
  • Strong planning and organization skills;
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

We offer

Contract length: 6 months with possibility of extension based on performance and available funding

Band: G management

Duty Station: Kyiv with regular travel to the field

Start date: ASAP
