This is a UNV National Specialist contract. This kind of contract is known as National UN Volunteer. It is normally only for nationals. More about UNV National Specialist contracts.

Within the delegated authority of the Supply and Logistics officer and with close collaboration with the Supply and Logistics Team Members, and with all programme sections, the UN Volunteer Supply and Procurement Associate will undertake the following tasks:

The assignment will cover the contribution of the UN Volunteer to the effectiveness and efficiency of the Supply and Procurement Section, the implementation of the supply chain management, by

providing support and assistance to all staff in the assigned areas of responsibility. Volunteer will undertake the following tasks: - • Supports the Supply and Procurement Section in carrying out market research analysis, • Supports the S&P Section to carry out an analysis and establish a range of appropriate costs for the commonly budgeted items, • Supports the S&P Section to unit adopt a series of cost-saving measures as per the initiatives proposed by the UNICEF Greening Group in TCO, • Supports the Supply and Procurement Section in carrying out research on market shaping and different engagement modalities: how it is done in the UN and specifically in UNICEF • Support S&P Section to leveraging the power of business and markets by creating shared value through commercial engagement, influencing markets, product innovation and other engagement modalities - Any other • Prepare Solicitation documents • Bid tabulation and adjudication • All kinds of filings both electronic and manual • Administrative and logistical support to supply unit • Identify and update vendor database • Prepare reference letters requested by the vendors • Tasks assigned by the supply team.

This assignment’s duty station is Ankara and relocation is required for the one not living in Ankara. Due to COVID-19 pandemic restrictions, this can be within a month after contracted upon agreement with the hiring manager. The UN Volunteer will be responsible for arranging her/his own housing and other living essentials. UNV Entitlements in a Nutshell for National UN Volunteer (Specialist): • Current Volunteer Living Allowance (VLA) is approx 12000 TRY as of May2022. This amount is subject to increase in parallel with revision in allowance of local personnel applicable in each year. • 100% health, life and dismemberment coverage by CIGNA. As per UN’s diplomatic mission status, it is not included in National Security Institution’s (SGK) system but can be initiated on private basis. • Entitlement to annual Leave at the rate of 2.5 working days per completed month of volunteer assignment • Entry allowance for covering relocation expenses • Exit allowance upon completion of service • Several learning opportunities
