UNICEF Türkiye Country Office (TCO)’s resource mobilization approach is firmly anchored in the Country Programme 2026 - 2030 as well as its Resource Mobilization Strategy, which emphasizes the strategic importance of building broad-based partnerships to advance child rights in the country. This includes actively engaging the government, the private sector, and civil society to mobilize increased investment and sustained commitment. TCO has adopted a strategic approach to private sector engagement, positioning businesses not only as donors, but also as critical partners in delivering services, driving innovation, and influencing social and environmental outcomes.
To enhance financial sustainability and programmatic leverage, UNICEF will continue to diversify its funding base by securing more predictable financial support, as well as expand strategic engagement with the private sector to leverage resources of the private sector through various channels including Business Advisory Board (BAB). Leveraging national resources and strengthening relationships with the private sector in the market will remain central to UNICEF’s resource mobilization strategy in Türkiye.
Engaging with the business as a key stakeholder is critical for achieving results at scale. In recent years, TCO has expanded its engagement with the private sector, broadening its portfolio of partnerships with companies supporting a range of sectors, including youth skills development, green competencies and Early Childhood Development (ECD). Currently, TCO is engaging with approximately 40 private companies, representing significant potential for future funding aligned with programme priorities.
Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of Partnerships Officer (Private Sector), the UNV Partnerships Officer will:
• Contribute to the outreach and networking with potential partners in the local Turkish market to develop and expand TCO’s network of key interlocutors and to build stronger relationships with the business community in Türkiye • Support the processing of due diligence requirements to ensure that potential private partners meet the minimum UNICEF requirements and that the relevant teams are aware of the potential risks associated with partnerships • Contribute to coordinating meetings between Senior Management and contacts in Turkish private sector companies, and provide relevant information through briefing notes in advance, to ensure productive discussion • Contribute to coordinating with programme sections to ensure the alignment of potential partnership opportunities with programme priorities, and developing concept notes/ proposals with relevant colleagues; including budget, communications, PME and operations teams where appropriate • Contribute to the coordination with National Committees (NatComs) globally to provide necessary information for the NatComs to pitch TCO’s programmes through PPT presentations, briefing notes, concept notes, proposals, budgets, etc. • Support organizing events; including field trips, launch events and trainings pre-agreed with partners • Contribute to preparation and execution of partnerships meetings, with the Turkish National Committee, Business Advisory Board, and other prospective donors • Contribute to maintaining a knowledge base of current and prospective private sector partners up to date, and preparing financial updates where needed (at least bi-monthly)
Areas of Specialization: As an active UNICEF team member, efficient, timely, responsive, client-friendly and high-quality support rendered to UNICEF and its beneficiaries in the accomplishment of her/ his functions, including: • TCO’s network of key interlocutors is expanded, and stronger relationships with the business community in Türkiye are built. • The proper due diligence steps are processed in the UNISON system, and relevant teams within TCO are informed of the risks, which are reflected in the design of partnerships through concept notes/ proposals. • Meetings between Senior Management and private sector companies are organized and conducted with sufficient information provided to the Senior Management in advance. • The concept notes/ proposals are developed in line with progamme priorities, and relevant teams are consulted on the design of the partnerships. • NatComs globally are provided with necessary information to pitch TCO programmes in a timely manner. • The organization of partnership events pre-agreed with partners are supported. • The coordination of meetings between TCO and TNC is supported. • The knowledge base of the current and prospective partnerships is kept up to date.

The UN Volunteer will be based in Ankara, and be responsible for arranging his/her own housing and other living essentials.
Summary of National UN Volunteer (Specialist) Entitlements: (paid in local currency) • Current Monthly Living Allowance (MLA) is USD 1,614 (paid in Turkish Lira) • Private insurance: Health, dental, life, and dismemberment (coverage by CIGNA) As per UN’s diplomatic mission status, it is not included in National Security Institution’s (SGK) system but can be only initiated on private basis. • Entry allowance: USD 400 •Exit allowance: USD 134 per month and upon the satisfactory completion of assignment • Annual leave: 2.5 days accrued per calendar month • Free access to different learning platforms and UN & UNV network

For assignments with UNICEF, mandatory: In addition to duty station specific vaccine requirements, appointments are subject to confirmation of fully vaccinated status against SARS-CoV-2 (Covid-19) with a World Health Organization (WHO)-endorsed vaccine, which must be met prior to taking up the appointment. It does not apply to UN Volunteers who will work remotely and are not expected to work on or visit UNICEF premises, programme delivery locations or directly interact with communities UNICEF works with, nor to travel to perform functions for UNICEF for the duration of their contracts.
