This is a UNV National Youth contract. This kind of contract is known as National UN Volunteer. It is normally only for nationals. More about UNV National Youth contracts.

Description of task

Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of the Supply and Logistics Manager or his/her designated mandated representative(s), the Supply and Logistics UN Youth Volunteer will:

  • Ensure Supply & Logistics files are up to date and appropriately filed/stored to facilitate easy and quick access as needed;
  • Participate in regular warehouse physical inventory counts;
  • Initiate good receipt on the system for supplies into the warehouse and or to implementing partner, and distributes invoices to relevant programs, monitors invoicing process related to supply function and monitors invoice process with the goal of adherence by all parties;
  • Provide through monitoring and analysis of relevant VISION report support to the monthly clearing of Goods in Transit account;
  • Support and Follow up on distributions with beneficiaries to ensure the items received match with the distribution plan and waybills;
  • Support in customs clearance, loading, and delivery to warehouse/partner;
  • Any other related tasks as may be required or assigned by the supervisor.

Educational additional comments

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Law, Economics, Management, Computing/ICT, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Logistics or other related fields.

Experience remark

  • Demonstrated interest and/or experience in procurement and supply chain management;
  • Motivated to contribute towards peace and development and to serve others;
  • Good interpersonal, networking and communication skills (oral and written);
  • Willingness to contribute and work as part of a team;
  • Flexible and open to learning and new experiences;
  • Respect for diversity and adaptability to other cultures, environments and living conditions;
  • Previous experience as a volunteer and/or experience of another culture, (i.e. studies, volunteer work, internship) would be highly regarded;
  • Computer skills (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, social media, and others);
  • A high level of individual responsibility, commitment and initiative.
