Overview

Support recommendation for staffing alignment to Mission's priority areas.

You have:

  • A first-level university degree in administration, management, information management, ERP processes or human resources related field.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experiences is required.
  • Experience in staffing review or related areas within UN context or in peacekeeping operations or political mission.
  • Strong analytical abilities and drafting skills in English are desirable.
  • Experience in implementing and managing change is desirable.
  • Fluency in oral and written English is required.

Result of Service

To support in preparing a recommendation for the alignment of Mission’s staffing to the priority areas of the mandate. The consultant is expected to conduct research, liaise with subject matter experts, document findings and provide recommendations in report format.

Work Location

Remotely with possible travel to UNSMIL Duty Stations

Duties and Responsibilities

Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Staff and Chief of Mission Support and under the guidance of the Chief Human Resources Officer , the incumbent is responsible for the following: - Assist in the reviewing of overall work plans and approved staffing for Mission org units to ensure that any proposed optimization of staffing resources corresponds to functional work plans and operational objectives. - Coordinate and conduct interviews with the Heads of Sections and Units. - Record and document all interviews. - Maintain records of all identified internal processes and gaps for each section/unit to determine adequacy to meet the immediate support challenges. - Support the conducting of job reviews of currently integrated units within Mission Support Service to ensure adequate segregation of duties. - Map and record all the results of the stakeholder analysis for units. - Assist in developing the final report on all findings and recommendations. - Provide overall support to the task force, to prepare for the recommendation submission to the CoS/CMS. - Perform additional relevant tasks, as required.

Qualifications/special skills

A first-level university degree in administration, management, information management, Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP) processes or human resources related field in combination with qualifying experiences will be required. At least 5 years of relevant experiences is required. Experience in staffing review or related areas within UN context or in peacekeeping operations or political mission and a solid understanding of the different functions and structures of staffing units with field operations is required. Strong analytical abilities and Strong drafting skills in English are desirable. Experience in implementing and managing change is desirable.

Languages

Fluency in oral and written English is required.
