SRH programme and communication support

The 7th Country Programme of support (2022-2026) has two more years to be completed. However, with the key staff position in the SRH team frozen, there is a need for support staff to help with preparations of key interventions, as well as supporting to highlight achievements, enhancing visibility of the work with a view to mobilize more resources.
Working under the overall supervision of the SRH Programme Coordinator, in close coordination with the SRH team and other UNFPA staff as necessary, the UNV will support the SRH and Comms and Partnership teams to build on results achieved to make them stand out. Specific areas include: Programme support: ● Provide support to the SRH Unit focusing on all the programme elements (Family Planning/Supply chain, midwifery, MPDSR, EmOC, AYFS and others) as part of the resource mobilization efforts ● Provide administrative support to the team (minutes of meeting, letters, programme document records, filing arrangements etc) ● Coordinate with relevant partners to collect service data and records of access to healthcare services which will constitute results of the programmes implementation ● Provide support with SRH programme monitoring and documentation with programme staff Communication support: ● Provide support in the organization of key advocacy events and communication initiatives of the Unit, linking to UNFPA Lao PDR programmes, including through media engagement ● Provide support to the content development, including preparation of social media messages, running beneficiary interviews, preparing booths and translating communication materials, in liaison with the UNFPA Communications/Partnership team. ● Support video creation for UNFPA TikTok account ● Maintain UNFPA comms inventory ● Overview UNFPA competitions online and offline Humanitarian Development Nexus: ● Support on-going humanitarian efforts, especially the work on telehealth, to support further training and its implementation ● Support the MISP implementation with MOH ● Support development of the building blocks as part of the resource mobilization efforts ● Support other tasks required by the SRH and communication teams and UNFPA management team ● Support with donor reporting of the programme

Programme experience in the field of development activities, preferably in programme/ project management / support. ● Excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and managerial skills required. Self-starter, proactive, passion for the issues. ● Understanding the UN System is a plus ● Excellent oral and written skills; excellent drafting, formulation, reporting skills; ● Accuracy and professionalism in document production and editing; and youth organizations, and authorities at different levels; familiarity with tools and approaches of communications for development; ● Ability to work and adapt professionally and effectively in a challenging environment; ability to work effectively in a multicultural team of international and national personnel; ● Solid overall computer literacy, including proficiency in various Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, among others), email, and internet; familiarity with database management; and office technology equipment; ● Self-motivated, ability to work with minimum supervision; ability to work with tight deadlines; ● Desirable: valid national driver’s license and proven ability to drive manual gear 4x4 over rough terrain; ● Sound security awareness; ● Have affinity with or interest in Sexual and Reproductive health volunteerism as a mechanism for durable development, and the UN system.
Living conditions in Vientiane are relatively good and comfortable but residents must make concessions due to the tropical climate and underdeveloped infrastructure, especially health facilities. The UN Clinic provides health services for all staff and dependents but for some specialized treatments it is necessary to seek health care outside Laos.
