Morobe Development Foundation Inc. is a not-for-profit organization based in Papua New Guinea and was established to promote sustainable community development initiatives and thereby address several exigent issues – ranging from environmental conservation to women's rights – that are hindering the quality of life of PNG communities. To that end, we are currently looking for 2 Online Volunteers with experience in social media content creation, analytics and advertising who can help us in planning and directing the social media accounts (e.g.: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn).

The Online Volunteer is expected to dedicate approximately 15-20 hours per week to carry this assignment.

Morobe Development Foundation Inc. is looking into collaborating with a partner NGO based in California, USA on projects related environmental conservation and grassroots level projects focused on nature-based solutions and environmental education. In that regard, MDF is seeking the support of 2 Online Volunteers who has expertise in social media, content creation, content strategizing for popular social media platforms, advertising, graphic design and blogging. This volunteer will help to promote environment, conservation and community level projects.

The selected Online Volunteers is expected to work with a team and lead a team under the supervision of subject experts carrying out the following tasks: 1. Brainstorming ideas for social media content posts - including feed posts, reposts, “stories”, online polls and activities. 2. Planning and creating a strategy surrounding the “branding” of social media posts to keep the nonprofit’s image and communication consistent and professional. 3. Assist in leading a team of volunteers who run social media accounts. Currently, one volunteer is responsible for one social media platform. Therefore, the online volunteer selected for this assignment is expected to lead a team of four individuals. 4. Understanding data on social media accounts related to post engagement. This is necessary to select appropriate times to post which assist in reaching a larger audience. 5. Communicate social media results and strategies with nonprofit leaders.

Upon completion of the assignment, the Online Volunteer will also be awarded with certificate of appreciation.

The ideal candidates should have demonstrated skills in social media, content creation, advertising and blogging. We are seeking candidates who have a bachelor’s degree in any field, or those especially with education or degrees in journalism, media, photography, or professional experience managing social media accounts, blogging, writing and advertising. - Candidate should have interest or knowledge in environmental, climate and conservation related issues. - Must have good communication and be very attentive, responsive, and proactive. - While filling out your application, under the “motivation” section, please elaborate on your social media, content creating, writing or blogging experience. - Please specify if you have previous experience as a content strategist - Please note that 2 weeks commitment is required for this role.
