- Role and responsibilities:
The purpose of a Translator position is to contribute with specific technical competences to the project implementation (East Warsaw Transit Site). This position will normally not entail management responsibility of staff, but under certain circumstances the job may entail management responsibility for a very limited number of staffs at assistant level. These circumstances can either be related to a time-bound support or permanent but in scope limited administrative support.
Generic responsibilities
Ensure compliance with NRC policies, guidelines and standards
Ensure compliance with Site Management strategy, tools, handbooks, guidelines, and standards
Site Management responsibility for implementation of technical translating services related to the project
Site Management specific responsibility for the quality control and monitoring of project activities, including Kobo questionnaires
Site Management responsibility for project documentation of technical activities of the project related to the City Desk activities
Assess, promote and document ideas for technical improvement and further program development options
Ensure that projects target project participants most in need, and explore and asses new and better ways to assist
Promote the rights of Internally Displaced Persons/returnees in line with the advocacy strategy
Specific responsibilities
Providing information provision about available services as per the project participants ‘requests
- Translating documents
Day-to-day interpreting for the Site Management Coordinator and Team Leaders
Assisting project participants at the East Warsaw Train Station, including support in purchasing train tickets and transporting luggage
- Updating information on people in the waiting area and their needs
- Receiving and releasing items from the luggage room
- Supporting Site Management Project Manager, Coordinator, Team Leaders, operating partners and service providers in the area of safe and checked referrals to local specialists, humanitarian actors and services as needed
Conducting daily KOBO questionnaires on access to basic needs to the new arrivals
Providing support to Site Management Coordinator, Team Leaders, operating partners and service providers in incident reporting as per NRC incident reporting guidelines and procedures
- Providing access and informing about Complaint and Feedback Mechanism (CFM) to project participants through multiple channels (including QR code, phone number, in person feedback, written form)
- Monitoring and updating any information materials distributed at the Transit Site for relevance to the project participants, ensuring their safety and security, and disposing of any leaflets, posters or banners, or any other promotional or information materials breaching safety, security or wellbeing of project participants
- Any other activities as per Line Manager’s request.
