You have:
- Bachelor's degree in agriculture, Animal Science, or Civil Engineering.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of progressive work experience in similar roles.
- Proven experience working with UN agencies, INGOs or local NGOs.
- Demonstrated experience in community engagement with excellent communication skills.
- Fluent in English, Pashto and Dari.
- Ability to frequently travel to target communities in the districts.
Job Description
- Effectively communicate and brief community stakeholders, government entities, and implementing partner (IPs) on various livelihood activities, encompassing agriculture, livestock, training, infrastructure, value chain, and marketing. Clearly articulate the project's working approach, including Cash for Work initiatives. - Conduct comprehensive needs assessments, meticulously select project areas, and thoughtfully identify beneficiaries for an integrated package of livelihood activities, covering agriculture, livestock, training, infrastructure, irrigation, and value chain. - Collaborate with the Agronomist officers to seamlessly implement, manage, and maintain records for agriculture-related activities. - Provide crucial support to the Civil Engineer in site selection, implementation, management, labor record-keeping, supervision, and reporting of infrastructural, irrigation, soil, and water conservation activities. - Assist the technical team (Civil Engineer and Agronomists) in adept financial management, including the coordination of cash-for-work activities. Ensure the provision of accurate data and reports to the finance department and Kabul office. - Collaborate closely with the Agronomist to select local farmers, identify priorities, and conduct analyses of agricultural challenges within villages. - Work collaboratively with community mobilizers and village leaders to ensure the inclusive participation of the poorest and most vulnerable groups, with a particular focus on women, in all agricultural program activities. - Actively participate in internal and external meetings, workshops, and training sessions. - Contribute to and participate in baseline and end-line surveys conducted by the project team. - Conduct specialized agro-processing and value chain training sessions, aligning with project objectives and community needs. - Collaborate with other project staff to systematically collect and manage relevant information from communities and partners, ensuring accuracy and relevance. - Identify and proactively address constraints and opportunities in the project implementation, ensuring a strategic and adaptive approach. - Prepare meticulously detailed monthly and weekly project reports, adhering to professional standards and project requirements. - Undertake any other tasks assigned by the line manager to contribute to the overall success and effectiveness of the project.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, Animal Science, or Civil Engineering, with a proven track record of improving livelihoods in rural communities. - Minimum of 2-3 years of progressive work experience in similar roles within the fields of livelihoods, agricultural extension, irrigation, community-based irrigation, infrastructure, watershed, cash-for-work, value chain, and marketing projects. - Proven experience working with UN agencies, INGOs or local NGOs. - Demonstrated experience in community engagement with excellent communication skills. - Proven ability to implement and manage projects related to agricultural extension, irrigation, and community-based infrastructure effectively. - Fluent in English, Pashto and Dari. - Ability to frequently travel to target communities in the districts, ensuring active and hands-on project engagement.
