Generic responsibilities:

  1. Team leader of shelter/WASH assistants social project staff.
  2. Adherence to NRC policies, guidance, and procedures.
  3. Responsible to implement delegated social portfolio of Shelter/WASH projects: need assessments, reports, distribution of Shelter/WASH Kits, distribution reports, Community Mobilization and Engagement.
  4. With the support of the M&E officer conduct PDMs, as delegated by the Project Coordinator in line with proposals, strategies, and donor requirements, and ensure high technical quality.
  5. Provide regular progress reports to the project Coordinator.
  6. Promote and share ideas for improvement and necessary changes in the activities.
  7. Prepare and ensure that all distribution scope of works is in line with quality NRC standards.
  8. Support the capacity building of project assistants and help in the transfer key skills to assistants.
  9. Liaise and collaborate with beneficiary communities and other key stakeholders.
  10. Promote the rights and participation of IDPs in line with the advocacy strategy.

  • Desirable minimum 2 years of experience in project implementation, managing and supervising social activities, and team with private/humanitarian sectors with proven experience in technical and managerial skills.
  • Experience working in complex and volatile contexts.
  • Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities.
  • Knowledge about own leadership skills/profile.
  • Fluency in Portuguese and desirable English
  • Desirable Spoken Local languages: Emakua, Ximakonde, Kimwane and Swahili.

Context-related skills, knowledge, and experience (shall be adapted to the specific position):

  • Knowledge of the context in Cabo Delgado.
  • Strong knowledge of MS packages (Word, Excel…).

Responsibilities

Specific responsibilities

  1. Technical Support. Providing social support and leadership to partners and communities implementing Shelter/WASH activities. This includes ensuring compliance with relevant NFIs minimum standards and collaborative engagement with the technical team in developing minimum technical standards, SOPs, and guidance.
  2. Partnerships/Contractors. Work in collaboration with the shelter/WASH team to identify and develop strategic partnerships (including beneficiaries), monitor the implementation, and assess the performance.
  3. Assessments. In collaboration with the Emergency Tem and Shelter/WASH, conduct Emergency need assessments undertaken by NRC or partners in Cabo Delgado. Assessments may be emergency-focused, Sector-Specific, Multi-Sector Assessments, Market Assessments, etc.
  4. Accountability. Responsibility to prepare for shelter/WASH distributions documentation, including the selection of beneficiaries, documentation, reporting and monitoring reports…, as per NRC policies and the requirements of management for Shelter/WASH or related activities.
