Overview

You have:

  • 02 years of relevant working experience in Cox's Bazar camp context.
  • Bachelor's/Diploma/Degree in Civil Engineering/Urban & Regional Planning/Development Studies/Social Science or equivalent.
  • Previous experience working in complex and volatile contexts.
  • Knowledge and experience in GPS and mapping.
  • Excellent computer proficiency.
  • Oral proficiency in the Chittagonian dialect.
  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal.

Our Ideal Candidate

The role of the Shelter Officer, field-based position is to support and ensure quality through the regular visit, coordinator with different stakeholder, sharing the challenges with senior management and support as per need of Shelter & WASH programme.

Key Task and Responsibilities

  • Provide general administrative and operational support to the Shelter & WASH /Emergency response programme.
  • Administers the project’s activities including raising purchase requisitions, preparation of payment vouchers, completion certificate and maintaining the project’s archive.
  • Line manages WASH/shelter Assistant, Incentive worker responsible for providing direction on Shelter & WASH intervention in camp and host communities.
  • Assists in reviewing procurement contracts and related documents, analyze contents and findings, and provides recommendations on variations or changes.
  • Regular visit the project area(Shelter and settlement intervention) to assess quality and assist with monitoring activities, support technical staff to prepare BOQ, follow up the construction work.
  • Tracks the results of the projects implementation and reports findings and/or breaches to the line manager.
  • Ensures that camp authorities, communities and leaders are involved and informed about the activities of the projects, in coordination with the field teams.
  • Update operational plans into weekly, monthly, and quarterly implementation plans and ensure that all plans are documented, regularly updated, and properly tracked.
  • Carries out any other related WASH/Shelter activities relevant to the role, as requested by the line Manager or senior manager.
  • Support team with information, dissemination, sharing and conduct assessment, FGD, KII as per needs required by the project and under the guidance of line manager.
