Job Description

Program & Job Overview: Implemented by the IRC, the Cultural Orientation Resource Exchange (CORE) is a technical assistance program that connects and supports refugee resettlement staff globally to deliver effective Cultural Orientation (CO) which helps refugees achieve self-sufficiency in the United States. As part of this work, CORE hosts and manages the CORE website and a learning platform. CORE is funded by the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration.

The Sr. Training Coordinator will report to CORE’s Research and Learning Officer in support of CORE’s capacity-building initiatives, specifically managing CORE’s online learning platform, assisting in the delivery of virtual and in-person learning opportunities, practicums, and supporting training and capacity building monitoring activities. The Sr. Training Coordinator will coordinate with CORE staff and work effectively with CORE’s external stakeholders.

Major Responsibilities:

· Manage CORE’s learning platform, including auditing and updating the system regularly, using Articulate to update course content, responding to online course requests within 24 hours (business hours), and conducting user testing;

· Support planning and implementation of CORE’s online learning activities (webinars, virtual practicums, online courses, virtual exchanges) inclusive of managing registration and email communications, coordinating Zoom/Teams logistics, completing registration reports, documentation of follow-up actions, and file management;

· Support monitoring activities for CORE’s capacity building initiatives, including quarterly reporting related to CORE’s learning management system;

· Support communication activities related to CORE’s newsletter, email campaign, and emails with stakeholders as appropriate;

· Participate in the creation of engagement initiatives, including writing short articles for the CORE Connection newsletter;

- Support development of CO provider-facing resources, including designing resources and supporting the development of multimedia assets; - Collaborate with other CORE staff to ensure maximum visibility and integration of all new CORE resources; - Represent CORE at meetings, internal and external workshops and conferences, and other events, as needed; - Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

- Bachelor’s Degree in education, learning design, international development, communications, or a related field required; - Minimum 1-3 years related work experience, preferably in refugee resettlement and delivery of Cultural Orientation programming; - Demonstrated command of PowerPoint, Zoom, and online learning platforms or programs, with the ability to learn new technologies quickly; - Excellent written and oral communication skills: the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and partners; - Solid organizational skills with the ability to juggle multiple tasks, set priorities, effectively manage time, and meet deadlines; - Knowledge of and experience using Articulate 360 preferred, but not required; - Knowledge of and experience using Microsoft excel to management and analyze data preferred, but not required; - Strong commitment to social service or humanitarian assistance programs and willingness to adhere to IRC’s code of conduct; - Demonstrated knowledge of the US Refugee Admissions Program and Cultural Orientation programs preferred; - The ability to be flexible and work well under pressure in a fast-paced team environment.
