Result of Service Through the work of the consultant, CTCN knowledge and communications objectives will be fulfilled and support the CTCN’s Programme of Work. The key constituency groups will be engaged and mobilised to deliver upon CTCN services. In addition, CTCN resource mobilisation efforts will be supported to ensure adequate funding for CTCN operations, and the CTCN Advisory Board and ultimately the UNFCCC Conference of Parties will be informed and empowered to productively guide the CTCN’s work.

Duties and Responsibilities The CTCN assists developing country Parties at their request, building, or strengthening their capacity to prepare and implement technology projects that span the technology transfer continuum. The CTCN supports public and private sector action on mitigation and adaptation, enhancing low emissions and climate-resilient development in a manner consistent with the capabilities and priorities of countries. In this position, the CTCN Senior Specialist Communication & Knowledge Management will: -Support the Director CTCN in management of CTCN knowledge sharing work including publications and the CTCN online knowledge portal; - Support the Director CTCN to Lead the development and implementation of the CTCN’s communication strategy, including facilitating the work of the CTCN Advisory Board and CTCN engagement at the UNFCCC/COPs. -Provide support in collaboration with gender, indigenous and youth constituencies. -Support the CTCN Director in implementing the Centre’s resource mobilization strategy by conducting donor analysis and outreach, providing input into funding proposals and reports, and providing guidance on the CTCN monitoring and evaluation system.

Qualifications/special skills University – Master’s degree or equivalent in communications, information systems, international development, technology, computer science, environmental science, public policy, or related area.

Languages English (Fluent), working knowledge of another UN Official language is an asset.

Additional Information Objectives, output expectations and performance indicators Objective 1: Support the Director in management of CTCN knowledge sharing work including publications and the CTCN online knowledge portal Output expectations: · Develop an annual knowledge sharing work plan based upon the CTCN Programme of Work and COP guidance · Pproduction of planned knowledge materials · Maintenance and content development of the CTCN online knowledge portal Performance indicators: - An annual knowledge work plan is developed - Planned knowledge materials are produced - CTCN knowledge portal is functioning well and content is updated - Reporting on the activities is included in relevant documents Objective 2: Support the Director in the development and implementation of the CTCN’s communication strategy, including facilitating the work of the CTCN Advisory Board Output expectations: · Develop a draft annual communications work plan based upon the CTCN Programme of Work and COP guidance · Communications activities such as media, social media, events and materials · Support conduct of Advisory Board meeting plans and reporting Performance indicators: - An annual communications work plan is developed - Planned communications activities are implemented - Advisory Board meetings and reporting are successfully organized - Reporting on the activities is included in relevant documents Objective 3: Support the Director in collaboration with gender, indigenous and youth constituencies and engagement Output expectations: · Annual engagement work plan based upon the CTCN Programme of Work and COP guidance · Support collaboration and activities with the constituency groups · Support the CTCN webinar program by encouraging stakeholder constituency and others to propose and collaborate on regional and thematic webinars · Support the development of constituency engagement strategies Performance indicators: · Planned constituency collaboration and activities are implemented · Planned activities such as webinars are implemented · Reporting on the activities is included in relevant documents Objective 4: Support CTCN Director in implementing the Centre’s resource mobilization strategy Output expectations: · Contribute to an annual resource mobilisation plan based upon the CTCN Programme of Work, resource mobilisation strategy, and COP guidance · Conduct donor analysis and outreach as requested · Provide input into funding proposals and reports as requested · Provide guidance on the CTCN monitoring and evaluation system Performance indicators: · Planned constituency collaboration and activities are implemented · Planned Network activities such as webinars are implemented · Reporting on the activities is included in relevant documents
