You have:

  • A bachelor's/master's degree and professional work experience (4 to 6 years) in relevant disciplines
  • A good understanding of the role of energy storage and related regulatory landscape pertaining to the journey of India’s Energy Transition
  • A good understanding of quantitative analytical tools (especially Energy System Modeling tools) and research methodologies
  • Previous experience with efficient stakeholder engagements (Line Ministries, DISCOMS, think tank and others)
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data from various primary and secondary sources
  • Demonstrate experience in research, fieldwork, and data collection
  • Proficiency in R, Python and any other advanced data analysis technique is desirable along with proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, MS Word and others
  • Excellent writing and editing skills in English
  • Have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a team

WRI India, an independent charity legally registered as the India Resources Trust, provides objective information and practical proposals to foster environmentally sound and socially equitable development. Currently over 250 researchers are working with WRI India in our offices at Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru.

Program Overview for Sustainable Cities and Transport At WRI India Ross Center we focus on 10 integrated solutions to urban challenges. Through applied research, tools, hands-on advice, and by tapping our network of global experts, we accelerate transformative urban initiatives that have the power to change Indian cities into thriving, equitable and low-carbon places that are good for people and the planet. How your Day will unfold:

• Supporting scoping, selection, design and implementation and end of life plan of pilot/ demonstration projects with stakeholders such as Discom, Industry and others • Assistance in identification of policy and regulatory gaps based on the technical, economic and business model needs • Analyzing the financial implications related to integration of “storage” in existing energy distribution infrastructure • Working towards designing relevant regulatory and policy framework to create additional revenue streams for energy storage at the distribution level. • Derive insights based on research on above and related areas of work, in the form of quantitative and qualitative analysis • Conduct data exploration, quantitative research and provide analytical solutions and insights to meet project outputs including developing reports, presentations, and briefings. • Coordinate with team members and other stakeholders to analyze complex datasets from a variety of sources and develop recommendations/action plans/way forwards • Take lead and deliver written outputs, including peer-reviewed articles, WRI working papers, and blog posts

Qualifications and Requirements we seek:

Salary and Benefits: 14,00,000 to 18,00,000 CTC PA Salary shall be commensurate with experience and skills. WRI offers a generous and comprehensive benefits package

Duration: Full time - Limited Term (1 year- extendable)

Location: Delhi (Travel to different cities may be required)
