  • Experience in public sector development and NGOs.

Contract

This is a UNV National Expert contract. This kind of contract is known as National UN Volunteer. It is normally only for nationals. More about UNV National Expert contracts.

• As an active [UNDP] team member, efficient, timely, responsive, client-friendly and high-quality support rendered to [UNDP] and its beneficiaries in the accomplishment of her/his functions, including: • Coordinate with GoI line ministries as needed and coordinated with the project team. • Assist the UNDP International and National consultants to accelerate their works with GoI LMs as requested by the project manager. • Support with conducting briefing and readout summaries to the PM and concerning parties about the upcoming trainings/meetings and workshops across Federal Iraq. • Support the development of working documents such as Concept note, roadmaps and studies for the approved plans/strategies upon request.
• Arrange, patriciate in meetings and prepare meeting minutes.

• Age, Gender and Diversity (AGD) perspective is systematically applied, integrated and documented in all activities throughout the assignment • A final statement of achievements towards volunteerism for peace and development during the assignment, such as reporting on the number of volunteers mobilized, activities participated in and capacities developed

Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of Head of Governance and Economic Diversification Pillar or his/her designated mandated representative(s), the UN Volunteer Project Coordinator will: • Provide administrative support for the project, collaborating closely with the project team and management. • Facilitate coordination among Government of Iraq (GoI) entities to ensure smooth project implementation, in alignment with UNDP guidance. • Act as a local liaison and coordination specialist, engaging with government focal points, UNDP staff, project teams, and national/international consultants to assist project coordination per the Head of Pillar directives. • Accompany and assist national/international consultants, facilitating communication and addressing requests from relevant GoI entities, as advised by the Head of Pillar. • Assist in preparing working documents such as concept notes, roadmaps, and studies, ensuring the collection of necessary data from GoI entities and stakeholders. • Provide technical inputs to the Head of Pillar or designated focal point as required. • Ensure thorough follow-up on project activities and fulfill any additional requirements within the scope of work. • Produce meeting minutes and readouts for meetings and workshops held during the reporting period and maintain a simple registry of project contacts. • Translate, if necessary, documents as instructed by Head of Pillar.

As this is a national UN Volunteer assignment, the UN Volunteer will be responsible for arranging his/her own housing and other living essentials. National UN Volunteers receive a volunteer living allowance to sustain a basic, adequate and safe lifestyle. This allowance varies from one location to another depending on local living costs, but all national UN Volunteers in the same location receive the same allowance. Below is a summary of the Conditions of Service. Allowances The purpose of allowances for national UN Volunteers is to enable the national UN Volunteers to sustain a modest and secure standard of living at the duty station. The allowances are in no way to be understood as compensation, reward or salary in exchange for the volunteer work. Volunteer Living Allowance (VLA): All national UN Volunteers expert are entitled to a monthly volunteer living allowance of USD 2,601.70 The purpose of this allowance is to cover the basic living costs of the national UN Volunteer, and her or his family when applicable. The allowance is to ensure that the volunteer can sustain a basic, adequate and safe lifestyle. The monthly allowance rate is a fixed rate for the duty station as established by UNV headquarters. Resettlement allowance: Eligible national UN Volunteers are entitled to receive a resettlement allowance upon satisfactory completion of the assignment. The allowance assists the volunteer to reintegrate into society both professionally and personally upon completion of their UN Volunteer service. As this is a national UN Volunteer assignment, the UN Volunteer will be responsible for arranging his/her own housing and other living essentials.
