Organizational Setting and Reporting Relationship
While the position of Senior Gender Officer resides with the Gender Equality Division (CCGE) within the Climate Change and Sustainable Development Department (CCDD), you will be strategically assigned to the Pacific Subregional Office (SPSO) in Suva, Fiji. CCSD leads thematic operations, knowledge innovation, and partnerships. CCGE provides technical leadership for gender across ADB operations and knowledge work in line with ADB's corporate commitments (Strategy 2030). SPSO serves as the focal point of ADB for programming, processing, and administering assistance in the Cook Islands, Fiji, Kiribati, Niue, Samoa, Tonga, and Tuvalu.
You will report to the designated International Staff in SPSO.
Your Role
As a Senior Gender Officer you will support, monitor, and report on gender equality outcomes in SPSO countries (Cook Islands, Fiji, Kiribati, Niue, Samoa, Tonga, and Tuvalu). This will include supporting the processing and administration of loans, grants, and technical assistance on gender equality; and assisting Cook Islands, Fiji, Kiribati, Niue, Samoa, Tonga, and Tuvalu in reducing gender inequality and advancing women's empowerment. The position will also support HQ and SPSO-based gender specialists to carry out gender research and analysis; engage with Governments in gender policy dialogue and capacity development; coordinate with development partners on gender issues; and provide inputs to ADB's activities on supporting gender equality in projects/programs and technical assistance (TAs) across all sectors in the SPSO portfolio.

Additional Information
This opening is a regional staff position with local remuneration package. It is open to nationals and permanent residents residing in the duty station, Fiji Islands, and ADB member countries in the Pacific region such as Australia, Cook Islands, the Federated States of Micronesia, Kiribati, Papua New Guinea, the Republic of the Marshall Islands, Nauru, Niue, New Zealand, Palau, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu and Vanuatu.
This is a fixed term appointment with option to renew for an initial period of 3 years following Section 3.1 (b) of Administrative Order No. 2.01 ("Recruitment and Appointment'). This appointment is not convertible to a regular appointment. At the end of the initial period, this appointment may be renewed for a period of up to three years, or not renewed. There is no limit on the number of renewals. This appointment is open to internal and external applicants.
