Leadership, management, and capacity development

  • Coordinate and support partners/stakeholders including the Vanuatu Recyclers and Waste Management Association and stakeholders effectively to implement the Container Deposit Scheme.
  • Develop and manage a competent team providing integrated programming to communities. being served by the project.
  • Motivate direct reports to ensure high quality performance.
  • Make and communicate informed field based decisions for effective adaptive management.
  • Ensure that direct reports receive capacity development that would be beneficial to the project.

Coordinate Program Quality and Operational Support

  • Lead the development of annual work plans within the project.
  • Ensure that implementation is timely, in line with the agreed work plans and is of high quality.
  • Grant spend reports and transaction lists are regularly reviewed and tracked.
  • Coordinate and actively contribute to reporting to development partners, as agreed in the contract.
  • With the support of the Disaster Preparedness & Response Portfolio Manager, monitor projects on the ground by working closely with the direct and matrix reports.
  • Lead timely and high quality monthly reflections, monitoring and planning reports.

  • Proactively raise risks (and mitigation plans/actions where applicable) in a timely manner to Senior Management including Portfolio Manager, Operations Manager, Finance Manager, and Program Quality Manager

Representation and Networking

  • Establish and maintain strong and effective relationships and networks with programming partners (e.g. local government, churches, local NGOs, businesses) other local and INGOs, government etc. WVV’s strategic development priorities are represented and align when possible at every level with all stakeholders, including national, international, and WVI.
  • Proactively liaise with relevant stakeholders, Portfolio Manager as necessary to ensure project implementation and technical elements are in-line with stakeholder expectations and respond to the needs of WVV.

Administration & Documentation

  • Ensure reports are submitted in a timely manner, meeting reporting requirements.
  • Ensure all program documentation outlined in the Grant Folder Guidelines are present and available when requested.
  • Ensure that project documents are filed in the WVV Shared folder.

  • Disaster Response: able to deploy as required in the event of an emergency response.
