Organizational Setting

This position is located in FAO Representation to Pakistan, based in Islamabad. The main aim of the FAO country offices, which are headed by an FAO Representative, is to assist governments to develop policies, programmes and projects to achieve food security and to reduce hunger and malnutrition, to help develop the agricultural , fisheries and forestry sectors and to use their environmental and natural resources in a sustainable manner.

Reporting Lines

Under the overall supervision of the FAO Representative in Pakistan, the direct supervision of the Assistant FAO Representative ( Administration) and in close coordination with security unit, the security assistant will be responsible for performing the following duties:

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Maintain updated staff lists / organizing of warden systems and headcounts exercises.
  • Carry out of Security Risk Assessments of FAO offices / operational areas.
  • Exercise of proper check on Security Guards and conduct of their drills.
  • Report of all Security related incidents to DSS / FAO security Officer.
  • Dissemination of DSS security alerts /emails with staff.
  • Upload RSM invoices in the COIN.
  • Nominate staff for SSAFE trainings and timely verification of invoices for the SASFE Trainings and Security Companies
  • Any other task assigned by the Assistant FAOR ( Administration)

CANDIDATES WILL BE ASSESSED AGAINST THE FOLLOWING

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree is required in Political Science, Military Studies, Security Management, Management.
  • National of Pakistan.
  • Bachelors with at least 5 years relevant experience in security, preferably in the military or police context or related field of work.
  • Fluency in English, Urdu, Sindhi and other local languages used in Sindh is required.
