You have:

  • Bachelor Degree in Education, Social Sciences, or relevant development/management Studies
  • Minimum of 3 years of successful experience in project implementation in the development/humanitarian field with a reputable NGO in Egypt
  • Highly familiar with the refugees and migrant's context in Egypt, is a must.
  • Previous experience in the education field is required.
  • Proven knowledge and skills in education activities' planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation.
  • Proven successful experience in team management.
  • Highly developed interpersonal, communication, writing, and organizational skills.
  • Fluency in Arabic (spoken and written).
  • Good command of the English language (spoken and written).
  • Commitment to Save the Children values, and Child Safeguarding policy.
  • Experience in working with UASC, youth, and adolescents is preferable.
  • Experience in implementing similar educational interventions to the targeted group is preferable.
  • Experience with using technology in education is preferable.

CHILD SAFEGUARDING:

Level 3: the post holder will have contact with children and/or young people eitherfrequently (e.g. once a week or more) or intensively (e.g. four days in one month or more or overnight) because they work country programs; or are visiting country programs; or because they are responsible for implementing the police checking/vetting process staff.

ROLE PURPOSE:

The Education Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating the educational classes and activities with SCI child friendly space (CFS) and in partners’ venues in Sheraton and 6th of October. This educational activity aims to promote and facilitate access to quality and safe educational opportunities for the children in Giza area. He/She will be responsible for leading a team of education teachers volunteers under the supervision of the education officer or senior officer to implement educational interventions based on the beneficiaries’ educational needs. Besides, he/she will be conducting regular observation and monitoring visits to the educational classes and activities.

Projects Scope:

The project “Gaza Response” is being implemented in Greater Cairo since 2023 with Palestinians affected by the war in Gaza. The project aims to improve the quality of services provided to children and families in the impact area through working on four main areas which are education, child protection, mental health and cash assistants. In addition to that the project will support local communities to strengthen the services provided for hosting communities.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor Degree in Education, Social Sciences, or relevant development/management Studies

• Minimum of 3 years of successful experience in project implementation in the development/humanitarian field with a reputable NGO in Egypt.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

• Highly familiar with the refugees and migrant’s context in Egypt, is a must.

• Previous experience in the education field is required.

• Proven knowledge and skills in education activities’ planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation.

• Proven successful experience in team management.

• Highly developed interpersonal, communication, writing, and organizational skills.

• Good training and facilitation skills.

• Strong networking, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

• Fluency in Arabic (spoken and written).

• Good command of the English language (spoken and written) Very good at using the internet, MS Office, Email, and spreadsheets.

Preferably

• Experience in working with UASC, youth, and adolescents.
