Duty Station: Remote

Duration: 9-12 months

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT:

The Information Technology Digital Solution Delivery Branch (TECD) oversees all solution development activities for WFP, covering the full technology stack and delivering changes to existing solutions. This function manages all aspects of development, from understanding business requirements to designing and building solutions and overseeing quality assurance.

The Digital Solutions Delivery Branch (TECD) is seeking to backfill the position of SAP HR Business Analyst for Human Capital Management projects with knowledge, expertise and experience in SAP Human Resource for Non-Profit Organization (PA, OM, TM, PY).

He/she will take up a short-term assignment in TECD for a period of 9-12 months

ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reporting to the Head of Business Analyst at the Technology Division, and under the guidance of the Project Manager of the assigned project, the SAP HR Business Analyst will be a key team member in the HCM project and in all the ongoing and up-coming other HR initiatives. He/she will be responsible for liaising with Stakeholders to discuss, collect and document requirements and implement IT solutions which meet their needs and achieve the highest quality in terms of technical usability, user acceptability, and domain suitability.

The incumbent will support the TEC Project Manager during the initiation, design, development and testing phases of all HR projects as part of the project team. He/she will act as HR area focal point and will work together with the other Project Stream Leaders. Specifically, he/she will be accountable for the following key duties:

  1. Manage the HR BA team assigned to project activities towards the achievement of the objectives indicated in the project plans. Coordinate with TECD supervisor/HR Project managers to ensure respect of the agreed objectives.
  2. Collaborate in the definition, implementation and testing of the integration between Workday and SAP HR; and support the cut-over, the go-live and post go-live phases of the HCM Workday project.
  3. Coordinate with the BA team of the other areas in reviewing impact and integration on Payroll, Finance, Budget, Travel processes, etc.
  4. Take ownership of the analysis of the business, the functional and the non-functional requirements

  5. Discuss requirements with stakeholders.

  6. Document and classify requirements and decisions for client approval.
  7. Perform impact analysis on IT systems, identifying alternative solutions.

  8. Take ownership of the project deliverables in his/her area:

a. Translate requirements into functional and non-functional specifications.

b. Interact with the development team to discuss and clarify specifications.

c. Review and ensure the quality of the solution implemented by the development team.

  1. Manage the integration between IT systems solution for HR area in collaboration with HR and Business Teams
  2. Provide expert level troubleshooting and direct problem-solving efforts to resolve technical issues and questions raised by the technical and functional teams of the projects
  3. Provide regular updates on progress and status of the projects.
  4. Provide support in determining costs and time frame estimations.
  5. Other duties as required.

DELIVERABLES AT THE END OF THE CONTRACT:

Business requirements documented.

  • All projects assigned to the incumbent should be well documented, providing an overview of all projects under his/her responsibility, including milestones, timelines, budget, risks and issues.
  • Business requirements and functional specification well documented.
  • Updated technical/non-technical documentation and release processes completed.
  • Regular communications and updates for Project teams and business partners.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Education: University Degree in computer science, mathematics, statistics, business administration or another related field.

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years progressively responsible professional experience as SAP HR Business Analyst within an International Organization and proven record of accomplishment in development and implementation of SAP HCM NPO solution.
  • Experience in analysing complex HR and or payroll business requirements for system development, in performing testing and system deployment.
  • Strong track record of delivering results in a complex environment with a combination of broad business skills and IT experience including:

  • IT solution development: Requirements, Design, Development, Implementation

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Rich experience and proven skills in working towards a common goal in a team of diverse skills, experience, and cultural backgrounds, with heavy emphasis towards business and non-technical team members and stakeholders outside the team.
  • Good knowledge of UN HR rules and SAP HCM NPO solution
  • High problem-solving skills and willingness to develop any technical skills needed, if any.
  • Proven ability to analyse business processes, uncovering, shaping, and documenting business needs and requirements that are aligned with business strategies.
  • Experience solving analytical problems (doesn’t need to be with code)
  • Excellent communication skills and time management.

Languages:

  • Fluency in oral and written English with an intermediate knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian and Spanish) or Portuguese (one of WFP’s working languages) is desirable.
