ITG’s goal is to provide greater effectiveness, efficiency, and differentiation to UNOPS products and services. UNOPS IT Group is responsible for architecting, designing, delivering, and managing all UNOPS IT infrastructure and business applications. The unit includes Enterprise Architects, Business Analysts, Solutions Designers, Developers and QA Testers from all around the world who are based primarily in Denmark and Thailand.

Functional Responsibilities

UNOPS Strategic Plan sets an ambitious course to explore digital transformation, generating tangible benefits for countries and people in need. As a first step on the journey, UNOPS has acquired Salesforce as a Platform and is now looking for a proactive Salesforce Administrator that will help us on the journey and continually enhance the platform as we move forward.

Reporting to the Product Manager, the Salesforce Administrator will advise on the suitability and application of the Salesforce platform to address expressed needs.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter who is passionate about Salesforce technology and who can recognize and make process improvement recommendations. The Salesforce Administrator stays abreast of the 3 annual Salesforce releases and makes recommendations of the emerging possibilities that these releases offer, as well as offering advice on any difficulties that the releases may bring.

The Salesforce Administrator is responsible for managing the UNOPS Salesforce instance, including systems configuration, maintenance/upgrades and end-user training and will perform the following functions:

  1. Administration of the Salesforce Platform
  • Responsible for administration and support of the Salesforce platform, including user setup, profiles and roles configuration, customization of objects, fields, record types, page layouts, workflows, validation rules, etc.
  • Responsible for ensuring Salesforce periodic updates are managed with minimal disruption to UNOPS hosted solutions.
  • Serve as key subject matter expert and point of contact for any Salesforce technical issues.
  1. Salesforce Development
  • Collaborate with UNOPS developers to design new Salesforce solutions.
  • Administer configuration changes, including Flow, fields, page layouts, record types, custom settings, dashboards and reports.
  • Configure and maintain custom objects, record types, fields, page layouts, formulas, data validation rules, triggers, custom workflows, approval processes, installed packages, etc.
  • Advice about best approach to develop features on salesforce
  1. User Management
  • Review user roles and profiles, and make recommendations as required.
  • Administer security settings, access settings, etc. (User Profiles, Role Hierarchy, Sharing Rules and Security).
  • Assist and recommend with license management.
  1. Knowledge Management
  • Train UNOPS developers on the Salesforce platform.
  • Develop training materials for UNOPS users.
  • Create and maintain Salesforce technical documentation.
  • Remain current on Salesforce best practices, technologies, and certifications

Education/Experience/Language requirements

Education:

Master’s Degree, preferably in Computer Science, Information Systems or other relevant discipline is required.

A Bachelor’s degree in combination with additional two years of experience may be accepted in lieu of a master's degree.

Secondary education in combination with additional six years of experience may be accepted in lieu of a master's degree.

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience working with IT platforms including a minimum of 2 years of experience as a Salesforce Administrator
  • Strong understanding of the Salesforce platform and its various components is required
  • Extensive experience with Salesforce customization and configuration, including: custom objects, flows, workflow and validation rules, triggers, permissions and sharing, and reporting is required.
  • Understanding of Salesforce sharing and security (roles, profiles, permissions, OWD, sharing rules) is required
  • Experience with data management, including data imports and exports is required.
  • Proficiency in data analysis, analytics, and tech-oriented problem solving is required
  • Experience in understanding and articulating complex requirements is a must
  • Strong experience prioritizing and managing multiple projects simultaneously is required as well as proven experience building relationships with stakeholders at all levels.

A professional certificate as a Salesforce Certified Administrator is highly preferred.

Language Requirements:

Full working knowledge of English is essential. Knowledge of another official UNOPS language is an asset.
