The overall purpose of the role: The Roving Supply Chain Officer (Assets Management) is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the effective and efficient management and control of DRC assets across the Iraq mission. This includes ensuring that all purchased assets are properly registered, tagged, tracked, verified, and disposed of in accordance with DRC policies and procedures and donor requirements. The roving supply chain officer (assets management) will also ensure that all assets data are accurately and timely updated on the ERP system and that regular reports are generated and shared with relevant stakeholders. The roving supply chain officer (assets management) will work closely with the Supply Chain Team in the Country Office (CO) and the Supply Chain staff in all Area Offices (AOs) in Iraq to provide technical guidance, support, and capacity building on assets management best practices and to ensure a consistent and harmonized approach of assets management system throughout the mission.

Responsibilities:

  • Follow and enforce standard asset management procedures.
  • Register and tag purchased assets in the DRC Microsoft ERP-dynamics system and the DRC E-filing system.
  • Support supply chain field team on physical assets disposal and documentation preparation for submission to management.
  • Maintain and update the asset tracker regularly and support field supply chain teams to do the same.
  • Conduct physical verification of assets in each location and prepare verification reports as required.
  • Issue and receive assets to and from DRC staff as per DRC guidelines and operations handbook.
  • Manage GPEs (General program equipment) as per DRC guidelines.
  • Receive, inspect, and verify all incoming assets, equipment, and furniture and schedule deliveries to users at the CO level.
  • Research, retrieve, and extract current and historical data from various sources to support the completion of assets data on Dynamics.
  • Manage the asset journals on the ERP dynamics system (modify, add, delete, and dispose of assets information).
  • Follow up on deadlines, commitments, actions, and reports to the head of the unit.
  • Train staff engaged in the conduct of physical verification.

Experience and technical competencies:

  • 2- 5 years of NGO/UN field experience in a similar position.
  • Good communication skills (reading, writing, speaking).
  • Ability to prepare weekly activity reports.
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to determine priorities, and attention to detail are a must.
  • Ability to work in a multicultural context as a flexible and respectful team player.
  • Willingness to work in the field and travel up to 90% of the time.
  • Experience in assets management systems and ERP systems.

Education:

  • Relevant university degree or similar education.
  • Minimum of five (3) years experience in a relevant IT position, experience in the INGO sector is an asset.
  • Ability to do basic hardware maintenance.

Languages:

  • Arabic (Native).
  • English (Good).

  • Head of Support Services.
  • Supply Chain Staff.
  • Support Services Manager.

Work Location:

  • Erbil 10%.
  • Field (Ninawa, Salah Aldin, Diyala, Basra) 90%.

Salary and conditions will be in accordance with the Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment for National Staff.
