UNICEF GSSC is looking for HR Assistants on temporary basis with possibility of remote working. We recruit more than 100 positions every year and those temporary appointments can create great opportunities for candidates who are looking for longer term positions in UNICEF for the future.

UNICEF Global Shared Services Centre (GSSC) was set up in 2016 and has established itself as a solid service provider to UNICEF offices worldwide in the areas of Finance, Human Resources, Payroll, and IT with the goal of providing modern business solutions for the most effective support of UNICEF’s noble mission.

How can you make a difference?

UNICEF is seeking candidates to temporarily support the HR Admin Section as HR Assistants at the GS-5 level in the Global Shared Services Centre in Budapest, Hungary. This is a great opportunity for career development in a fast-paced, multicultural context and for taking the first step towards an international career as part of the UN family

This will involve:

Monitor UNICEF staff personnel records

  • Perform necessary administrative actions on contractual status, entitlements, mobility and hardship allowances.
  • Maintain staff entitlements and profiles in SAP-HR
  • Draft correspondence to follow up on staff contractual status and request recommendations

Maintain electronic reporting system for Human Resources Processes

Ensure timely and accurate execution of administrative actions

  • Update reporting system with status changes (e.g. contractual status, marriage status)
  • Responsible for understanding changes in policy procedures
  • Review policy and participate in GSSC staff meetings to keep informed of changes
  • Ensure appropriate action is taken in accordance with policy changes

Prepare and initiate major Human Resources documents

  • Create employment verification letters
  • Complete background work for Disability and Worker's Compensation claims for submission to appropriate departments

As an advocate for every child, you will have…

  • A secondary education diploma (high school)
  • 1 year of experience in administration (HR or related) for candidates holding bachelor’s or master’s degree in HR, business administration, finance, economics or related field is required. (or 5 years of experience in administration (HR or related) for candidates without university degrees)
  • Working knowledge of the Microsoft Suite products (MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint)
  • Fluency in English (verbal and written) is required
  • Knowledge of Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish is an advantage
  • Previous admin experience in SSC context is an advantage
  • Non-Hungarian citizens must be in possession of a work permit or be nationals of EU countries
