MDF is preparing several different articles connected with the projects the organisation is working on - focused on a specific region in PNG: 1) Leatherback Turtle Nesting Shoreline Protection 2) Mapping Mangrove Habitat Change Through Remote Sensing and Participatory Mapping 3) Environmental Impact Assessment 4) Ecological and Land Use Classification

Our projects are ongoing. Currently, we are preparing several documents/reports, for which we need the support of online volunteers with experience, MDF seeks support from expert online volunteers to review and edit the materials which will be published. The journal edition will be collaboratively done through Google Drive and volunteers will be asked to collaborate with other online volunteers and the MDF team.

The 3 online volunteers will do the following tasks: - Use materials/documents about the projects and based on that, write and/or publish the publications - Review and edit the publications, double-check information (if needed), make editorial and material changes - Prepare materials to be ready to be published

Detailed tasks: - Use gathered information and data to prepare publications - Rewrite text to make it easier for readers to understand - Whenever possible, verify and cross-check facts cited in documents/reports - Read content and correct spelling, punctuation, and grammatical errors - Work and communicate with other volunteers and the MDF team - Approve final versions

MDF requires the support of 3 expert online volunteers who have experience with reviewing and editing publications about GIS and environment-related topics.

MDF is preparing several different articles connected with the projects the organisation is working on. Each online volunteer will be asked to review at least 2 of them, preferably contributing to all.

Online Volunteers must be well familiar with the GIS language and must have extensive knowledge of GIS and Remote Sensing. They will review the drafts, taking into consideration comments and recommendations provided by the MDF team and other volunteers - making sure all they are correct and complete before they are submitted for publication.

The online volunteers will be acknowledged for their contribution in the journal or included as authors depending on their contribution and will also be certified through the UNV platform and referenced accordingly by MDF when and where necessary.

Requirements: - PhD holders in GIS and/or environmental studies (strong focus on environment and climate change). PhD students are also encouraged to apply - Please make sure to underline if you are PhD holder or student in your application - Experience in remote sensing, the use of UAV, and the ability to interpret drone and satellite images - Own publications on similar topics - please make sure to include information about your publications in the application - Ability to effectively communicate with the MDF team and other volunteers
