Overview

Assist with volunteer coordination and community outreach.

You have:

  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree or recent graduate
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail-oriented, organized and reliable
  • Comfortable taking leadership role as appropriate
  • Interested in learning about the Charlottesville community
  • While a personal vehicle is not required, it would be helpful on occasion

Qualifications RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Attend Volunteer/Intern Orientation and assist with conducting orientations as needed

· Assist with processing, tracking, organization, and distribution of in-kind donations, including on-going management of the IRC’s in-kind stop and shop

· Assistance with tracking and recording volunteer service hours

· Planning and executing special events including intern/staff mixer(s), donor cultivation, and client events needing volunteer support

· Support community outreach effort which may potentially include contributing to the monthly newsletter and social media

· Record hours and submit completed timesheet for each month via the IRC’s online Volunteer Dashboard.

· Outreach to companies for in-kind solicitation

LEARNING OUTCOMES: Interns will learn skills around volunteer coordination, community engagement, in-kind, and cultivating donor relationships. This internship will provide insight into fundraising and fulfilling the needs of a large international organization. The intern will learn the inside of a resettlement agency and get a full picture of the various programs and steps involved in the process.

· Comfortable taking leadership role as appropriate

· Interested in learning about the Charlottesville community
