The UN Resident Coordinator’s Office (RCO) in Egypt supports the UN Country Team in delivering coordinated and strategic support to the Government of Egypt and national stakeholders. One of the RCO’s priority areas is enhancing coordination and strategic programming on migration and refugee-related issues.
To support this work, the RCO seeks the support of one skilled Online Volunteer to assist in desk research, meeting preparation, and the drafting of key documents related to migration and refugee coordination efforts in Egypt. This assignment offers an opportunity to directly contribute to UN coordination work on one of the most complex and dynamic topics in the region.
Under the supervision of the Head of the RCO, the Online Volunteer will:
Review and synthesize existing RCO documents related to migration and refugee coordination in Egypt to build a working understanding of the current landscape.
Support the drafting of one short internal background note (3–5 pages) on current UN initiatives in this area, integrating input from key coordination meetings, existing reports, and relevant strategic frameworks.
Provide concise summaries (1–2 pages each) of up to 3 virtual coordination meetings (if scheduling allows), including key points, decisions, and proposed follow-up actions.
Assist in outlining one concept note or project brief (up to 4 pages) for a proposed strategic initiative or coordination mechanism related to migration and refugees.
The volunteer is expected to compile all the information into one research paper in English and developed in coordination with the head of RCO..
