In 2022, thanks to our volunteers and Online Volunteers via UNV platform, we released a report assessing how Europe was doing in reducing single use plastics. We want to update this report and release it in June 2023. The 2021 report, can be found here: https://rethinkplasticalliance.eu/wp-content/uploads/2022/09/SUP-Implemetation-Assessment-Report.pdf

All the names of the contributors, including from the UN platform, were cited at the beginning of the report.

In order to update our understanding of the situation in Hungary and draft a report, we are looking for the following information to be compiled in a word document:

  1. Identification of the national reuglations that were adopted following the adoption of the EU directive in 2019 on single use plastics (SUP) that concern SUP items and following the 2022 report;

  2. Short paragraph on where the discussion stands/ answer to the following question: were there any new developments between September 2022 and now regarding the measures on SUP items?

  3. Compile links to 3 or 4 press articles released in 2023 and 2024 in the Hungarian national media on SUP pollution and write a short summary on the content of each one of these articles.

We are looking for English and Hungarian speaking volunteers interested in doing research on measures against single use plastics in Hungary and report them back to us in a short briefing document in English.
