ABOUT THE POSITION

Research Assistant has the responsibility to support research on aquaculture production system in Egypt. He/she is also taking responsibility to support the research team travel arrangements, uploading and updating files on one cooperate system (OSC), uploading and updating files on MEL platform and for organizing meetings and special projects within Egypt office. He/she works closely across the whole WorldFish teams to achieve the aims of organizational communication and documentation issues.

Requirements

This full-time job is for Egyptian nationals with the following skills and qualifications:

  1. A Bachelor’s Degree in aquaculture with at least 4 years working experience in related field.
  2. Over 4 years’ experience in aquaculture with good knowledge of different aquaculture production systems.
  3. Laboratory experience with good knowledge in sampling, preserving and analysis.
  4. Computer literate, with familiarity using MS Office (MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint).
  5. Fluency in Arabic with excellent written and spoken English.
  6. Knowledge on aquaculture production systems, integrated aquaculture Agriculture systems.
  7. Contacts with fish farming community.
  8. Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks; and must be a team player with good interpersonal skills.

Benefits

This is a Nationally Recruited Staff (NRS) position and WorldFish offers a competitive remuneration package including comprehensive benefits (but not limited to) insurance coverage for staff and eligible dependents, 15% employer provident fund contribution, paid leave and others. The duration of the contract will initially be for a three-year period with possibility for extension, depending on funding and performance.

Location and Duration

The full-time staff will be based in Abbassa, Sharkia, Egypt. The successful candidate should be available to commence the Research Assistant as soon as possible. This full-time job is open to Egyptians nationals only.
