WorldFish would like to hire an intern to support programming tasks for the MEL platform, focusing on providing technical assistance and enhancing software functionalities.

The successful candidate will:

  • Provide assistance in troubleshooting and resolving programming issues related to the MEL platform.
  • Collaborate with developers to enhance and maintain MEL platform features and functionalities.
  • Contribute to documenting software configurations, code changes, and technical specifications.
  • Assist in testing software components, identifying bugs, and ensuring quality standards are met.
  • Participate in researching new technologies and methodologies to improve MEL platform performance and efficiency.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to support ongoing projects and deliverables.

Requirements

This opportunity will be suitable for you if you have the below skills and qualifications:

  • A Diploma/Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. Candidates pursuing relevant coursework or certifications may also be considered.
  • Proficiency in PHP programming language is essential. Familiarity with frameworks like Laravel or CodeIgniter is advantageous.
  • Ability to write clean, maintainable code and adhere to coding standards.
  • Experience with MySQL or other relational databases used in PHP applications.
  • Strong understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and related front-end technologies.
  • Familiarity with Git or similar version control systems for collaborative development.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and debug issues efficiently.
  • Experience working in a team environment, collaborating with developers, testers, and other stakeholders.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills to document work and collaborate effectively.
  • A willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to evolving project requirements.

Location and Duration

Successful intern(s) will be based at WorldFish Headquarters, in Penang, Malaysia. The successful candidate should be available to commence the internship as soon as possible for a duration of 06 months. This position is open only to national applicants only. Interviews are expected to be held in July 2024 and only shortlisted candidates will be notified and expected to attend the interview.
