The transition to green energy is a crucial step towards achieving sustainable development and mitigating the impacts of climate change. Despite the clear environmental, economic, and social benefits, many countries are hesitant to make this transition due to factors such as cost, established traditional energy practices, and existing policies and regulations.

Our project aims to address these challenges by targeting young people in universities across the globe. By educating and empowering the youth, we hope to foster a new generation of advocates for green energy who can drive change within their communities and beyond. Our goal is to instill knowledge about the advantages of green energy and how to effectively transition to it.

To support this initiative, we are seeking 6 online volunteers with Knowledge in the following areas: a) Advocacy b) Human Rights c) Legal Background in public utilities d) Marketing Communication e) Alternative Energy f) Public Utility Economics

These Volunteers will collaborate to develop comprehensive educational materials and strategies tailored to each region’s specific needs, ensuring a holistic approach to promoting green energy adoption among university students.

By joining this project, volunteers will have the opportunity to work with the Development and Economic, Social Issues Branch at OHCHR, contributing to impactful research and advocacy efforts that support global sustainable development goals.

We are looking for 6 online volunteers, each representing one of the following areas: a) A researcher in Advocacy b) A Human Rights Volunteer c) Someone with a Legal Background to help us evaluate legal regulations to public utilities d) A Marketing Communication Volunteer e) Someone with Knowledge of Alternative Energy f) Economist of Public Utility

Their responsibilities will include:

Advocacy Volunteer: - Draft persuasive materials to advocate for green energy adoption among university students.

Human Rights Personnel: - Develop guidelines to ensure that green energy initiatives are inclusive and equitable.

Legal Research Volunteer: - Review and analyze legal frameworks related to public utilities and green energy to identify barriers and suggest solutions.

Marketing Communication Volunteer: - Design and implement a communication plan to raise awareness about the benefits of green energy.

Alternative Energy Volunteer: - Create informational resources on best practices and innovative solutions for green energy.

Economist of Public Utility: - Analyze the economic impact of transitioning to green energy on public utilities and prepare a report on economic feasibility.

The Online Volunteers will have the opportunity to build connections with the Development and Economic, Social Issues Branch at OHCHR and learn about how research on green energy transition can support sustainable development objectives.

We are seeking six online volunteers with strong analytical and research skills to support our green energy initiative. Ideal candidates should have a background in advocacy, human rights, legal frameworks in public utilities, marketing communication, alternative energy, or public utility economics. A bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field is required. Volunteers should have experience in their respective areas, strong writing and communication skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively. Proficiency in English is essential, with additional languages being a plus.
