You have:

Contract

UNFPA is closely looking at the Humanitarian, Development and Peace Nexus and will endeavor to find opportunities of translating current humanitarian programs into sustainable development programmes. The candidate will report directly to the Reproductive health specialist in Aden, receiving administrative guidance from the head of Aden office.

The candidate will play an instrumental role in supporting the humanitarian development peace nexus for health through facilitating project geared towards system strengthening including but not limited to midwifery. This will be done also by enhancing UNFPA collaboration and partnership with civil society, local communities, opinion leaders, authorities and other United Nations entities and donors. He/She will apply established systems and procedures and assist in the creation of knowledge by compiling, synthesizing and analyzing relevant information, developing appropriate mechanisms and systems and ensuring compliance with procedures. Responsibility: •Participating in the formulation of the area-based programming and component projects, by compiling and analyzing information relevant to ending preventable maternal deaths and ending unmet need for family planning, Contributes to formulation, design and implementation of reproductive health program component’s projects/activities in the targeted geographical areas, with particular focus on humanitarian development nexus approach for health response. •Ensure the timely development, revision and implementation of the Minimum Initial Services Packages (MISP) for RH in humanitarian setting. •Support and lead the RH working group functions in the duty station, including partners enagagement, facilitating collaboration, information flow, and joint planning among member agencies to achieve collective objectives. •Expedite and coordinate project implementation establishing collaborative relationships with executing agencies, experts, GHO, government counterparts and other UN agencies facilitating timely and efficient delivery of project inputs and addressing training needs of project personnel. •Participate in the planning of national capacity building activities and coordinate training as per the planned schedule. •In liaison with the MoPHP and GHO establish support supervision and technical backstopping systems to continuously monitor, coach, assess competence levels, and develop and implement improvement action plans for the Community Midwives. •Participate in the clinical training, in the design and implementation of appropriate measures and give technical guidance and suggestions according to capability and skills. •Support in monitoring and evaluation plan for the RH projects in consultation with the field officers, RH officers, and relevant program team members with emphasis on inputs, outputs and achievements to ensure delivery is in line with approved work plans; and follow up the implementation of the M&E plan, including timely inputs to required reports. •Conducting field visits; participating in review meetings and evaluation missions and preparing regular inputs to status and progress reports. •Provide expertise and facilitate advocacy activities relevant to reproductive health in particular through preparation of relevant information for evidence-based advocacy; •Contribute into implementation of communication activities on reproductive and maternal health; •Assist in drafting proposals by availing evidences and information relevant to the SRH; •Contribute to drafting project documents and work plans and preparing tables and statistical data. •Supporting the ministry of health to implement the new reproductive health strategic plan •Guiding routine implementation of assigned projects, in coordination with national counterparts and project personnel, coordinating delivery of project inputs; and ensuring participation of national counterparts in training activities and study tours for quality development. •Supporting advocacy and resource mobilization efforts of the CO, by establishing and maintaining a network of donor and public information contacts. Assisting with organizing and conducting donor meetings and public information events, including preparing relevant background material for these events. •Work closely with Government counterparts, UN agencies, NGOs and Civil Society institutions at national and provincial levels, to promote an integrated approach and implementation of Country Programme interventions in the area of Reproductive Health. •Interact with key stakeholders and maintain a solid network of partners involved in RH activities. •Support Provide other forms of assistance as required and instructed by the direct supervisors, Any other related tasks as may be required or assigned by the supervisor.

As this is a national UN Volunteer assignment, the UN Volunteer will be responsible for arranging his/her own housing and other living essentials. National UN Volunteers are part of the medical insurance plan.
