This is a UNV International Specialist contract. This kind of contract is known as International UN Volunteer. It is normally internationally recruited only. More about UNV International Specialist contracts.

Eligibility criteria

Minimum age: 25 years old. Nationals of the country of assignment are not eligible, except the assignments in Headquarters duty stations.

Description of task

Under the overall guidance of the SFL Project Manager and the direct supervision of the SFL Project Management Specialist, the Reporting Specialist is responsible for contribution to:

  1. Resource mobilization and partnerships building,
  2. Provision of timely and high-quality reporting to donors
  3. Strengthening / Development of Donor Relations
  4. Facilitates knowledge building and knowledge sharing as required by the organization

1) Resource mobilization and partnerships building: Coordinate with SFL Project Manager and the Country Office resource mobilization and partnership development specialist to achieve the following:

  1. In coordination with UNDP Libya Resource Mobilization Specialist, identify emerging sources of funding
  2. Development and regular updating of specific donor fund-raising strategies and approaches
  3. Contribution to materials, strategies, and other communications or products to support resource mobilization with donors;

2) Provides timely and high-quality reporting to donors through the achievement of the following:

  1. Preparation of Briefing Notes/Talking Points for Senior Management, RBAS, New York, UNSMIL
  2. Ensure the timely preparation of quarterly progress updates and SFL Annual Report.
  3. In close coordination with SFL Project Management Specialist and Country Office Program Management Support Unit, ensure the timely preparation of donor interim progress reports and final reports as per the Cost Sharing Agreements signed.
  4. In coordination with the SFL Project Management Specialist, prepare ad hoc requests from donors as needed.

3) Donor Relations

  1. Ensure drafting of Concept Notes through coordinating inputs from all relevant units
  2. Ensure drafting of all funding proposals through coordinating inputs from all relevant units
  3. Ensure substantive and logistic preparations for monthly Donor Technical Group meetings, informal meetings (donor dinners) and SFL Board meetings on a timely basis
  4. Support ad hoc donor meetings and events in coordination with SFL Project Manager and Senior Management
  5. Support SFL input to Senior Management outreach to donor community and communications in support of UNDP Libya Resource Mobilization strategy and post-Berlin programming

4) Contribute to the facilitation of knowledge building and knowledge sharing contributing to the achievement of the following results:

  1. Identification and formulation of lessons learned and recommendations to be integrated into broader CO knowledge management efforts.
  2. Contributions to knowledge networks and communities of practice.
  3. Organization and conduct of trainings on RM and partnerships building in the Country Office.
  4. Identification, documentation and sharing of new partnership strategies, models and approaches.

Qualifications/Requirements

Required degree level:

Master degree or equivalent

Required experience:

60 Months

Experience remark:

5 years of relevant experience at the national or international level. Two years of international experience is a distinct advantage,

Experience in post-conflict countries is an advantage

Previous experience in stabilization, partnerships, including demonstrated experience in partnerships management and people management is highly desirable.

Experience in fundraising, donor relations and partnership development.

Experience in drafting customized donor reports and financial reports/forecasts will be a distinct advantage.

Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages, good knowledge and experience in handling of web-based management systems

Language skills:

  • English(Mandatory), Level - Fluent
  • Arabic(Optional), Level - Working Knowledge
