UNICEF works in some of the world’s toughest places, to reach the world’s most disadvantaged children. To save their lives. To defend their rights. To help them fulfill their potential.

Across 190 countries and territories, we work for every child, everywhere, every day, to build a better world for everyone.

And we never give up.

For every child, an Advocate

If you are committed and passionate about making a lasting difference for children, UNICEF Turkey would like to hear from you.

How can you make a difference?

UNICEF offers the opportunity for summer interns, talented university students, to gain valuable professional experience while being exposed to UNICEF’s work. At the same time, UNICEF benefits from working with interns as they are a significant asset, providing updated academic knowledge, technical know-how and other valuable skills to the organization.

The intern will support the child protection section in the coordination and implementation of the UN Joint Programme for the Prevention of Child, Early and Forced Marriage (CEFM) in Turkey. In particular, the intern will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Tracking the progress of internal workplan implementation through monitoring sheets and partner reports.
  • Assisting in the preparations of the UN Day of the Girl Child event.
  • Assisting in the preparations of the Knowledge Exchange Event of the UN Joint Programme.
  • Assisting in fine-tuning training / visibility materials / research reports already developed and being prepared for production (such as KAP study report, Best Practices study report, C4D guidelines, MoFSS training slides etc).
  • Perform other tasks to support the section as appropriate.

The intern will be treated as a member of the Child Protection team and provided with supportive supervision and mentorship. An inception phase will allow the team and supervisor to understand the intern’s academic interests on the one hand and to brief the intern on his or her assignments on the other. A detailed learning plan with associated key child protection and C4D staff will be developed to form the basis of contribution, learning, and deliverables (i.e. reports to keep track of his/her progress as well as to contribute to the official documentation of the Section)
