The Recruitment Center of Expertise (RCoE) evolved from the HR Reform launched in 2016 to spearhead UNICEF’s agile and innovative recruitment strategy, which places the RCoE in a leading role, in a globally decentralized recruitment network. The RCoE conducts research and provides business solutions that facilitates the securing of safe talent. RCoE products include standards and guidelines, webinars and tools that will enable UNICEF Offices to make hiring decisions that better position the Organization for success. Leveraging data and lessons learned, the RCoE also orchestrates the knowledge management of global recruitment and selection practices.

The RCoE work is rooted in six pillars namely: (1) Research, Development and Standardization, (2) Toolkit and Talent Group Development and Management, (3) Information, Knowledge Management (4) Communication and Content Management (5) Stakeholder Relationship Management and (6) Measuring and Reporting on Performance.

How can you make a difference?

Under the guidance of the direct supervisor, HR Consultant (IKM and ECM), and in close collaboration with RCoE team members, the intern will assist the Recruitment Center of Expertise (RCoE) in Information, and Knowledge Management through partnership and collaboration with team members and relevant stakeholders by maintaining standards, best practices and procedures in UNICEF document management.

Responsibilities:

  • Organize RCoE knowledge products and ensure they are accessible to various stakeholders
  • Coordinate responses to clients’ questions on the shared mailbox and transform to FAQs
  • Monitor, report on, and implement continuous improvement through user feedback
  • Contribute to preparation of training events

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will…

  • Be enrolled in or recently graduated (within the past 2 years) from an undergraduate, or graduate programme in Information Management, Information Science, Knowledge management, or related field;
  • Have knowledge and/or experience in document management, information management or knowledge management is required;
  • Have the ability to keep abreast of developments in document management is required;
  • Demonstrate interest and eagerness to acquire new knowledge by taking on other duties assigned with enthusiasm is required;
  • Be at least 18 years old.
  • Be fluent in English. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) is an asset.

CONDITIONS OF SERVICE

Stipend: In accordance to UNICEF's guidelines, selected intern will be provided a monthly stipend of $1,700 USD per month during the internship.

Insurance: Interns are required to demonstrate proof of medical insurance prior to the beginning of the internship. It has to be valid for the entire duration of the internship. In duty stations where UNICEF provides medical evacuation, medical insurance that the intern holds has to include provisions for medical evacuation.

Mandatory Courses: Selected intern will be requested to complete online mandatory courses prior to commencement of the internship.

Location: Selected intern will ideally be located between EST-4 and EST+4 timezones to facilitate communication with the supervisor who is located in New York, USA.

Remarks:

Mobility is a condition of international professional employment with UNICEF and an underlying premise of the international civil service.
