Background

Under the overall guidance and direct supervision of the Human Resources Business Partner, the consultant will work closely with the HR Associates in providing HR recruitment & selection services within Europe & Central Asia Region and Arab States Region.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide support in the recruitment and selection processes of FTAs/TAs (national/international) including preparation of vacancy announcements, screening candidates, coordination, and chairing of panel interviews;
    1. Conduct initial screening against minimum requirements of all the applications for the vacant posts;
    2. Ensure gender and geographical consideration in the long listing;
    3. Classify the applications and summarize them in a matrix that captures the competencies in the vacancy announcement;
    4. Prepare a summary report of the long listing.
  • Possible backstop to HRBPs providing logistical support and document preparation for the interview panels including preparation of corporate interview panel summary reports and documentation for submission to review bodies;
  • Review Job Descriptions in accordance with UN Women’s job dictionary;
  • Conduct background checks and other assessment tools to assist in the selection of candidates;
  • Provide support in maintenance of recruitment related information for management planning;
  • Provide support in development, testing and implementation of new e-recruitment system(s);
  • Support in recruitment and selection of Personnel Services Agreements (PSA), as necessary.

  • Timely and accurate organization of recruitments and contract management;
  • Timely and support in HR administration and recruitment initiatives;
  • Accurate reporting with up-to-date and secure recruitment databases, files and records.

Required Skills and Experience

Education:

  • A University degree in Business Administration, Human Resources Management or related field.

Experience:

  • At least 5 years of experience in the area of human resources, including experience in the area of recruitment and selection for national and international organizations;
  • Knowledge and experience of the United Nations human resources rules and regulations, policies, procedures and practices;
  • Ability to work in a multi-ethnic environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity, including gender balance;
  • A high sense of confidentiality, diplomacy and urgency is required;
  • Experience with UN Women/UNDP ERP system is an added advantage.

Languages:

  • Fluency in English is required;
  • Knowledge of another UN language would be an asset.

Contract and Remuneration:

A Special Service Agreement Contract (SSA) will be issued in accordance with UN Women rules and regulations. The Recruitment Consultant shall be paid in installments upon completion of the deliverables and upon certification of duties performed for each assignment to be undertaken within the contract period.
