You have:

  • Bachelor’s degree with a major in accounting, finance, or business administration.
  • Certified Accountant or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution strongly preferred.
  • Preferred Six Sigma certification preferred (yellow or green belt).
  • Minimum 4-year experience supervising a team.
  • Good command of written and spoken business English.
  • Technical knowledge in general accounting standards, statutory, financial and management reporting, analysis, and forecasting skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate at all levels.

Key Responsibilities:

Reporting directly to the Global R2R Inter-Office & Reconciliation Manager, this position has the responsibility for managing a specific region or offices within the Shared Services and will be expected to liaise with the regional and global stakeholders to ensure both efficient operations and ongoing process improvements. The position has the primary responsibility to supervise work related to reconciliations and ensure intercompany transactions are timely and accurate and in compliance with Finance Manual and generally accepted accounting principles.

This position leads a team of General Ledger Accountants. The incumbent is involved with continuous improvement activities which improve financial processes and controls and is responsible for the ongoing management and development of subordinates reporting to this role.

MAJOR RESPONSABILITIES

Operational Management

  • Manage the accurate and timely delivery for specific region/group of countries of reconciliations of general ledger and subsidiary ledger and its accompanying financial reporting in accordance with SLAs.

  • Lead and monitor delivery of various reconciliations such as bank reconciliation, balance sheet accounts reconciliation, 300 accounts reconciliation, PBAS reconciliation, LDR (labour distribution report) reconciliation; and intercompany charges are within the agreed timeframe and in the required format.

  • First pass yield review of the work performed by team members. Ensure quality and efficiency of work performed.

Supervisory Responsibility and Business Continuity

  • Carry out people management responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws, including-
  • Plan, assign and direct work Hire and develop direct reports by transferring knowledge of operations, financial concepts and business issues Provide feedback and coaching of team members Recognize key employees Provide opportunities for learning and self-development, and facilitate the development of technical competencies Continuously strive to build a culture of high-performance
  • Act as designated back-up of Global R2R Manager in case of absence. Proactively work with other team leads within Shared Services to ensure business continuity.

Customer Service

  • Primary contact of customers (WV Offices) in terms of coordination and servicing in R2R team.
  • Regularly track and resolve outstanding general accounting and reporting issues that have been escalated, or further escalate to the necessary parties. Provide sound advice and information to staff across the Shared Services and its customers as and when required.

Continuous Improvement

  • Support Global R2R Manager in implementing best practices for R2R process and proactively identify, propose and implement continuous improvement opportunities in existing processes within the team.
  • Support and mentor direct reports and drive other improvement and process initiatives within the Shared Services.
