The work of the listers mappers and supervisors is to conduct a household count in selected 552 EAs and update the maps of those EAs spread across all regions and districts of Azerbaijan as assigned by the field supervisor and survey manager. The quality of the work of the listers and mappers work will be assured by the supervisor under the overall supervision of the survey manager.

How can you make a difference?

Scope of Work for Listers:

  • Attending the listing training for 2 days and piloting for 2 days
  • Receiving lists of households in the sample, field manuals and other forms from the survey coordinator to guide the work;
  • Conducting the listing of the households in selected EAs;
  • Filling listing questionnaire;
  • Returning all forms and updated maps completed to the responsible supervisor;
  • Performing all other relevant tasks assigned by the supervisor.

Scope of Work for Mappers:

  • Attending the mapping training for 2 days and piloting for 2 days
  • Receiving maps, field manuals and other forms from the survey coordinator to guide the work;
  • Conducting the mapping of the households in selected EAs;
  • Updating maps of the EAs;
  • Returning all updated maps completed to the responsible supervisor;
  • Performing all other relevant tasks assigned by the supervisor.

Scope of Work for Supervisor:

  • Attending the listing and mapping training for 2 days and piloting for 2 days
  • Ensuring that all listers and mappers received maps, lists of households in the sample, field manuals and other forms from the survey coordinator to guide the work;
  • Support and supervise conducting the listing of the households in selected EAs;
  • Support and supervise updating EAs maps;
  • Ensuring the high quality of the filled listing questionnaires;
  • Ensuring that the maps of the EAs are properly updated;
  • Ensuring that all forms, updated maps and completed documents submitted to the survey manager;
  • Performing all other tasks assigned by the survey manager.
  • Ensuring the quality and timely completion of activities.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

Knowledge/Expertise/Skills required for listers and mappers:

  • Minimum a Bachelor level or technical/occupational certificate
  • Knowledge in MS Office (word, excel, power point);
  • Field experience in household surveys. Experience in similar work with the Central Statistics Department is an added value
  • Ability to manage team remotely is an advantage
  • Attention to the details.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • The ability to work in the regions for a long time (two months at least).
  • Fluent in Azerbaijani language verbally and in writing. English is an added value;

Knowledge/Expertise/Skills required for supervisors:

  • Minimum a Bachelor level
  • Good knowledge in MS Office (word, excel and power point)
  • Previous field experience in household surveys. Experience in similar work is an added value.
  • Fluent in Azerbaijani language verbally and in writing. English is an added value

Mobility is a condition of international professional employment with UNICEF and an underlying premise of the international civil service.

Individuals engaged under a consultancy or individual contract will not be considered “staff members” under the Staff Regulations and Rules of the United Nations and UNICEF’s policies and procedures, and will not be entitled to benefits provided therein (such as leave entitlements and medical insurance coverage). Their conditions of service will be governed by their contract and the General Conditions of Contracts for the Services of Consultants and Individual Contractors. Consultants and individual contractors are responsible for determining their tax liabilities and for the payment of any taxes and/or duties, in accordance with local or other applicable laws.

Confidentiality of Data and MICS Documents:

He/she will protect the confidentiality of the data collected and stored on tablets/ and office servers/computers/archives and is only allowed to discuss those with direct supervisors in the office. He/she is expected to keep under his/her control the questionnaires, maps and other forms he/she is using for his/her work. He/she is not allowed to copy/photocopy/scan/ reproduce/ email and/or share totally or partially any data files, filled in questionnaires, or any confidential data/ information with third parties. Any breach of confidentiality will result in legal penalties. He/she is not allowed, under any circumstance, to publish, release, discuss, and share any survey outputs and survey phases or outcomes without prior written consent/ approval from direct supervisor.
