Education & Work Experience:

˗ Bachelor degree from an accredited educational institution in Psychology is required.

˗ Master degree or technical studies in Psychology is desired.

˗ At least 3 years of relevant experience working with children, including managing PSS cases directly, receiving and referring high-level cases is required;

˗ At least one-year experience in management and supervise field teams is required.

˗ At least one-year experience in coordinating PSS activities and reporting to donors is required.

˗ Experience in delivering PSS/child protection capacity building trainings is required.

˗ Experience working with children/youth programming, psychosocial support or child protection with an NGO, INGO or UN agency is required.

˗ Knowledge of project management cycle is desirable.

Languages:

˗ Fluency in Romanian and Russian. Good command of English.

Position Overview:

The Psychosocial Support (PSS) Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the implementation, ensuring the quality and monitoring the impact of PSS activities carried out by People in Need (PIN) directly, its contracted psychologists and its grantees in different localities and environments (home visits, schools, social services centres, etc.). (S)he will be responsible for the coordination of all psychologists contracted by PIN and ensuring successful and high-quality implementation of activities, recording and promotion of good practices and lessons learned for technical improvement. The PSS Coordinator is responsible for the management and technical supervision of contracted psychologists and for implementation of additional Social Inclusion and Protection activities aimed to improve the mental wellbeing of vulnerable population.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Management

˗ Responsible for management of all psychologists contracted by PIN and PSS Mobile Team composed of two hired psychologists by PIN, including supervision of psychologists.

˗ Provide support and guidance to all psychologists under supervision.

˗ Responsible for recruitment of psychologists, leave and performance evaluation of any staff under his/her supervision.

˗ Supervise psychologists’ activities to ensure tasks are completed in an effective and timely manner and data base is updated.

˗ Conduct regular team meetings to review progress, address challenges, and plan upcoming activities;

˗ Identify capacity building needs, support the provision of trainings and provide ongoing professional development and mentoring support to psychologists, as needed.

˗ Ensure all PSS activities are conducted according to internal and international Minimum Standards.

˗ Conduct regular visits to project sites to collect feedback, check-in on changing needs and monitor activities to ensure high-quality of PSS activities.

Protection

˗ Coordinate with PIN’s Program department to ensure alignment of project activities, sharing of resources and information management.

˗ Support oblast-level Referral Focal Points to establish safe referral pathways in all locations in the region where PIN is responding. Support Referral Focal Points on Service Mapping activity and coordinate monthly mapping updates.

˗ Responsible for immediately reporting any potential Protection or Safeguarding concerns to the line manager, in line with PIN’s Safeguarding Policies and reporting mechanisms.

Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL)

˗ Together with the MEAL department, manage the collation and analysis of all protection project data.

˗ Ensure all data collection is in line with Protection Information Management (PIM) principles and includes adequate data protection.

˗ Document lessons learned and share knowledge and learning within the Social Inclusion and Protection Department and other relevant stakeholders.

˗ Support MEAL activities as requested to support quality programming and accountability.

Coordination, Reporting and Communication

˗ Communicate regular internal updates, and collaborate with PIN’s Social Inclusion and Protection Department to ensure programmatic quality, development, sharing of knowledge and upscaling of PSS activities.

Requirements:

˗ Higher education degree in education, social science, or other relevant fields;

˗ At least 3 years of work experience in positions that entail responsibility for managing/supporting education project activity implementation or support of local partners, experience in managing/supporting education projects highly preferred;

˗ Experience in consultancy within the education sector, including drafting education development proposals and strategies, is an asset.

˗ Relevant experience with either public service, international organizations, national civil society organizations or educational institutions;

˗ Understanding of the field of international development/experience with emergency response, specifically in education, preferred;

˗ Experience in managing teams;

˗ Excellent command of Romanian and English is required, Russian is preferable;

˗ Competencies: flexibility/ dynamic approach/ decision-making ability/ high level of coordination

˗ Experience working in partnerships with other organizations, teams, diverse groups of people; good awareness of different cultures;

˗ Self-starter, able to work under pressure with demonstrated ability to take on new initiatives;

˗ Excellent communication skills, written and verbal;

˗ Willing to travel across Moldova regularly, sometimes on ad-hoc basis;

˗ Strong ethical standards.
