You have:

This role is open to national staff who hold Iraqi citizenship.

Purpose of the role

The purpose of the officer position is day to day implementation of the Protection Project.

Qualifications

Professional competencies

• Experience from working in similar roles in a humanitarian/recovery context

• Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities

• Strong computer skills (excel, word, Kobo, etc)

• Good English skills (written and speech)

• At least 3 years of experience in Protection-related work and general case management.

• University degree / high experience in social work, psychology, or psychosocial counselling

Good Knowledge of work concepts in communities affected by violence in Anbar.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality, respect, non-discrimination, and safety of client always.

• Ability to discuss sensitive issues with respect and empathy

• Good interpersonal and problem-solving skills, creativity, and flexibility

• Good ability to organize work, meet deadlines, maintain composure, work independently, prioritize work under pressure, coordinate multiple tasks and maintain attention to detail

• Demonstrated interest in humanitarian work and supporting people effected by conflict

Contract Duration: until 31 December 2025 (our contract renewal cycle runs from January to December) Duty Station: Ramadi - Iraq with Health Insurance is provided Salary: G5, Travel 20% to Erbil and Baghdad

Responsibilities

What you will do

These responsibilities shall be the same for all positions with the same title. The responsibilities shall be short and essential. Details belong in the Work and Development plan.

  • Ensure adherence with NRC policies, tools, handbooks and guidelines
  • Implement delegated Protection portfolio according to plan of action
  • Implement procedures and activities within own function or as delegated within Protection CC
  • Prepare and develop status reports as required by management
  • Ensure proper filing of documents
  • Ensure that projects target beneficiaries most in need, and explore and asses new and better ways to assist

Specifically, you will;

  • Provide general protection case management services in compliance with best-practice and international standards in protection response (including NRC case management SOP’s) including assessment of need, development of case plan and referral/facilitation of access to services, follow-up, and case closure, for the most at-risk individuals.
  • Ensure accurate updates to the Protection database and proper completion of case management forms in line with SOPs.
  • Adhere strictly to data protection protocols to maintain confidentiality and safeguard sensitive information.
  • Provide focused non-specialized MHPSS for individuals as a part of protection case management.
  • advocate with community stakeholders and authorities to achieve individual beneficiary goals set in the case plan.
  • Accompany beneficiaries to various offices when required based on risk assessments
  • Conduct field visits to beneficiaries and project locations
  • Assist in the delivery of high-quality community participation and engagement on protection awareness-raising
  • Ensure dissemination of clear and reliable information sessions on service provision and other pre-selected key topics.
  • Ensure updated services mapping and stakeholder mapping. And use it to facilitate the service provision through case management.
  • Submit weekly and monthly activity plans, reports and recommendations for assessed persons and identified beneficiaries
  • Actively participate in case reviews and lead case conferences as apart of case management.
  • Support the implementation of monitoring and evaluation tools and report on issues in the implementation of the program.
  • Undertake any other reasonable task assigned by management.
