Job Description

Job Overview/Summary: Under the direct supervision of the CB Protection Manager, the Information Officer will be responsible for coordinating with IRC Protection Mobilizers, POFP and other relevant stakeholders in areas of operation to disseminate regular up-to-date and accurate information on available services by sector and location, to targeted townships. The Information Officer will design and deliver information sessions on a range of topics, including on risky migration and trafficking, available services in the area, how to access them and eligibility criteria. S/he will ensure that information sessions meet the specific needs of various community groups through coordination with Protection Mobilizers, in coordination with the Protection Manager. Information Officers will design and deliver information dissemination materials in coordination with the Protection Manager, including leaflets, posters, and bulletin boards. Information Officers will also be responsible for maintaining information on available services and referral processes, and to facilitate referrals through establishment and maintenance of referral pathways; direct communication with agencies that receive referrals; timely follow up of referral outcomes; and, ensuring the referral outcome tracking database contains accurate, comprehensive and detailed information.

Major Responsibilities:

- Conduct field visits 1-2 times per week to villages and urban areas to meet with community members to deliver information on their rights and access to services in their areas; - To manage the delivery of group information sessions (public speaking) and collect attendance records and evaluation forms; - Design and implement information campaigns, written and oral, with the support of the Protection Manager (including leaflets, posters, bulletin boards, radio broadcasts and others) according to needs outlined in monitoring data; - In coordination with Protection Mobilizers, POFPs and Protection Manager, network with social welfare providers in order to map service networks for referral; - Identify, establish and support referral mechanisms for services in areas of operation; - Make referrals to relevant service providers including the UNHCR through standardized referral system and conduct regular follow-up with service providers on referred cases; - Keep an up-to-date referral tracking sheet including relevant profile info, follow up actions and updates provided by different stakeholders; - Conduct advocacy to local service providers regarding protection concerns in coordination with POFP, Protection Mobilizers, Protection Officer and as directed by the Protection Manager. - Contribute to the maintenance of an up-to-date service mapping of the service providers operating in the area (coordinated by the Protection Officer and Mobilizers) and take proactive steps to remain informed about the available services. - Receive cases referred from other agencies. Provide feedback about actions taken to other agencies, when necessary and appropriate in light of confidentiality requirements. - Document all referrals accurately and in a timely manner in the referral documentation system, including all relevant updates and case closure details; and, - Support the team to upload and entry date via online (comm care or kobo). - Assist supervisor for preparation of weekly, monthly and quarterly protection monitoring report. - Perform other duties, as needed, or requested by the supervisor.

Data management and reporting

- Manage file and store data, ensuring the confidentiality of the information collected and the services provided. - Record and enter data of Items distribution. - Provide updates about work planning as requested. - Support the implementation of M&E tools and report on problems in the implementation of the program. - Participate in weekly reporting and planning meetings to ensure adherence to standards of care, quality case management and reporting requirements.

Key Working Relationships:

Position Reports to: CB Protection Manager

Indirect Reporting:

Internal: Protection Mobilizers/Monitors and focal points, Protection Officer (EPA), MEAL focal.

External: Nil

Qualifications

Education:

- Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, International Relations, Human Rights, Law or another relevant field.

Work Experience:

- At least three years of prior professional experience in a similar post, preferably with an international organization - Good protection background and knowledge of local context. - At least three years of prior professional experience in a similar post, preferably with an international organization. - Experience in using analysis software including SPSS and Microsoft power BI.

Demonstrated Skills and Competencies:

- Excellent organizational and time management skills and ability to meet strict deadlines. - Good communication skills and building relationships with team members and communities. - Experience in public speaking and presentation skills. - Fluency in Microsoft office, experience in document design and layout. - Ability to manage databases and strong analytical skills. - Good interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team, as well as independently; and, - Flexible and able to work in a dynamic and diverse environment

Language Skills:

- Excellent English language and Burmese, oral and written. local language skills preferable.

Myanmar nationals with relevant skills sets and proven experience of working at international level are strongly encouraged.
